i just like the white mask. to me it feels almost robotic and it also matches his guitar as well.

The second holiday greeting card on the site has a yellow mask... :o
Some days, it's a good day to die. And some days, it's a good day to have breakfast.

I really like the white mask. It matches his guitar and looks better paired with the yellow jacket and against his hair. The yellow mask makes kind of a yellow-overload, but that\'s just me being nit-picky.
I am diggin\' the old school bucket, though. I\'d love to see more of it.

stumpdangler

Yeah, I dig the white mask the most, too. It has a timeless, statuesque quality about it.

How about that.  It sure does.  Good eye man.

I\'m kind of wondering if this new yellow mask is a new make or and old mask painted yellow. When Buckethead wears the white one, normally you can see his eyes, but in this picture with the yellow it\'s all flesh (or appears to me). Or maybe he\'s  covering them up?

in my opinion, thats because the all good photo was in 2009 during when he wore a mesh underneath his mask. Because if you see buckethead\'s eyes it takes out the mysteriousness, so by putting the mesh on he can align his mask to eye level. Before that his mask was always slightly lower.

^^^^ I agree with this statement.

He probably just glued some mesh netting to the inside of the mask so you can\'t easily see his eyes.

Buckethead is a smart guy. He knows how to add mysteriousness to his persona. I think people who think he is autistic are wrong.

I\'ve never heard that one before.. I\'ve heard some strange things but never that, sure it\'s possible I suppose, but I highly doubt it. After watching all the videos I could not imagine that. Even IF it was true... so what? Who care?

That I can agree with. I always feel like I\'ve seen something I shouldn\'t when there\'s a photo and I can see his eyes.

Wait, some people haven\'t heard the "Buckethead\'s autistic" rumor? People apparently get it from the fact he is so mysterious, generally just acts very silly and odd, yet can play guitar brilliantly. Like an idiot-savant, sort of. Then again, a sizable people are pulling that conclusion this video and this video, as well as the fact he takes his stage persona so far to the point that no one\'s seen his face. They think that\'s who he is, with the mask and without.

Anyone who\'s making these assumptions purely based on a stage persona is an absolute loony.

Also, I\'d agree with the comment made that his new yellow mask = :) He\'s expressing his "joy" for all the support and since recovery?
Or perhaps, as someone else mentioned, he\'s decided to dress up for the occasion. After all, the color does match his outfit.

On a similar note, I personally think that Buckethead is a really smart and extremely talented guy regardless of what everyone else might think. I think that his stage persona reflects on a number of influences and so does his music. Thats what brings about creativeness to a lot of artists out there, an influence(s). Music is a form of entertainment after all. Part of musical stage performance (besides the music) is visual/expressiveness art form to grasp and maintain audience attention. Unfortunately, I am yet to attend one of his performances, but I believe that Buckethead created this persona with his influences in mind, which he actually uses to his benefit and to supplement his performances. This is clear from what I\'ve observed in circulating videos (e.g. nunchucks, robot dance, etc) over the years. It creates for him the atmosphere he "needs" in order to perform, as well as keeps his audience happy/entertained.

By the way, I\'ve been a long time Buckethead fan and have been "guesting" on this forum for a long time. I finally decided to join in ongoing discussions, so this is my first post. Hello to everyone out there :)
