That baconator brought me inner peace.  I think I attained Nirvana while eating it that day.

Last week another thing like the April Fool\'s story happened to me.  One night my husband answered the phone in the basement and then I picked it up upstairs but he never hung the phone back up.  Two days later I was wondering why the phone didn\'t work.  I went through the house and looked at all the phones and then realized it must be the basement phone.  As I was about to go down the stairs an elaborate story formed in my head that there was probably a psychopath down there who took the phone off the hook and was trying to lure me down there to kill me.  And right after I told myself that whole thing was totally stupid I thought of all the people in scary movies who do things that are totally stupid and you\'re like duh the killer is there you idiot.  So I was totally scared to go down the basement.  I did hang the phone up, but that is exactly why I don\'t watch scary movies.

I came home to a box of chickens today.  How weird is that?

It appears that friends of ours have decided to become egg farmers, or whatever you call people who raise chickens for eggs and my husband picked up their chickens for them.  It was really weird to find a box of chickens in my basement though.

I went to a garage sale last weekend and wouldld\'t you know it but the parents of one of my favorite bands was the host.

Have you ever heard of Pepper? they are a band from Kailua-Kona HI, that sounds a little like Sublime and are making it pretty big on the mainland. Anyway... the band has been together for almost 10 years and shortly after they made their 2nd album the Mom of the lead singer and the Dad of the drummer hooked up and got married. They were having the garage sale.

The Dad (Roy Williams) is also the the man who heads up LAW Records. He is a totally cool dude, he wouldn\'t sell me the t-shirt he was wearing but I was able to talk him out of a few Pepper t-shirts, a hedge trimmer, paper shredder, some ceramic pots and a bowl full of shells for $20.

It\'s just kinda trippy.

I wouldn\'t go so far as to call this "funny".  But tonight, just as I was settling into a Swami Rama video.  A bolt of lightning struck the funeral home 2 doors down and caught it on fire.  The fire was contained pretty quickly and no one was hurt...but man...  I felt the shock waves from the blast.  It was pretty freakin\' incredible.

Quotemaybe Dr Frankenstien works there?

I\'m not exactly sure what got struck.  There was tree debris around.  The fire was in the basement.  I was hoping they weren\'t going to have to bring any "clients" out.  Despite a lightning strike, the scene was pretty relaxed though.  Not a lot of smoke and screaming or anything like that.  This morning I did hear that a woman went to the hospital, so hopefully she\'s ok.  But, they are back in business today having a funeral.  I took a few pics, but I\'m not going to post them.

I\'ve been watching a lot of Swami Rama videos and I got to thinking...  If there was an amusement park called Swamiheadland, I think the Swamirama would be a fun ride.

I\'ve been thinking about Swamiheadland.  I think I like the name Swamiland a little better and Swami Kripalu needs an attraction too.  So he gets Swami K\'s Temple of DDR.

Here are video clips of Swami Rama telling a funny story about a really tall Swami who kicks a leper into the Ganges and cures him.

The story starts at about 6:30...

and continues...

*I just watched the videos again...  I think the Swami jumped in the Ganges.  He just kicked the leper.  But still, Swamis kicking lepers is funny in my book.

We\'ve got a cat!  Her name is Kali.  We found her in the neighbors retaining wall that is covered with a rather thick shrubbery.  I love the word shrubbery.  All the neighbors heard this really loud meowing for 3 or 4 days but no one could figure out where it was coming from because the cat would hide every time someone looked in there.  She\'s about 5 weeks old.  We\'re not really sure where she came from.  Anyway, on Monday we got in there with a flashlight and some food and lured her out and grabbed her.  We took her to the vet today and got her checked out.  I think this is one of those instances where the pet chose us.  Here is a pic.

p.s.  That is a little feathered toy...not a small chicken.
