Known as the Mark III lineup, here they are in front of 200,000 fans at Ontario Motor Speedway in LA. Purple\'s pinnacle. Insanely well constructed tune in every respect. I get goosebumps when I see this, it was actually shown on TV on Don Kirschner\'s Rock Concert which used to be simulcast in FM! Hi tech for sure!

Indeed, Don Kirschner\'s Rock Concert was a fantastic show! I don\'t know who currently owns the rights to these shows, but it would be great if they would release them for purchase on DVD!

I have a copy of the Joe Walsh and Black Sabbath shows that came from a TV/VHS master, but I would gladly pay for some quality remastered versions!

Freeky-it\'s in Greenport, Long Island, New York. That\'s on the eastern tip of Long Island-I live about 40 minutes from there-strange place for rock history film archives-must investigate!

I didn\'t even notice that!!!!  I grew up on LI.  Was in Greenport this summer, had I known I would have checked it out!

It appears that Historic Films must be doing fine by keeping the shows stored away in their vaults and just selling footage to Film and Television Producers, Ad Agencies, etc...  I wonder if official releases of these shows will ever see the light of day

On a bit of a different note.  It\'s pretty amazing to think that probably at least 95% of people to ever pick up a guitar have played the beginning of Smoke On The Water.  LOL!
