I ask because I have seen a few of these driving around in my area.  :o  And they\'ve never been towing a thing.  So, I ask, why is this necessary?  I even saw one at the grocery store.  It was someone\'s grocery getter.    :o  And I feel guilty about taking my minivan to the grocery store?  :-/

I look forward to your input as to why?

The main purpose is to comsume more gasoline and produce more pollution, I suppose.

I'm still sticking with my Hummer theory of over compensating for something.  I don't know what -- wink, wink, nudge, nudge, know what I mean.

I love the tag line for the vehicle -- "It doesn\'t just command attention; it demands it."

If you go deeper into the sight it does show some realistic applications, but it sure implies that it is all about making a big statement, no matter what your true needs are.  America rocks, it just goes to show that we must be over compensating for something!

Stuffy, did you ever buy your new truck?  and how was the move?

oldfolkie

gee, buswolley, do you mean instead of little blue pills they buy big red trucks?

My husband always refers to those as "penis extensions". Just quoting... ;)

We\'re well & truly in the muck up here too -- you guys have a Texan in the White House, and we have an Albertan in 24 Sussex Drive. Pretty similar scenario. Our guy just doesn\'t have quite as long an arm or as big a stick. But oh, how he would love to.  ::)

Maybe they should give a years supply of blue pills for every sale!

oldfolkie

...wait a minute... :-/ ...wouldn\'t that be redundant?  ;)

Now, as far as big trucks go, they have their place. But have you seen how many people drive theirs no further than the supermarket? Bizarre.

You\'re right very redundant, but I still bet it would increase sales.

We are still up in the air over the move, buswolley. LOL!  We, unfortunately for the wallet, found out our daughter can ride a horse!  And can she ever!  So we\'ve been dealing with horse shows this summer.  And we\'re working on the truck for this fall so hopefully we\'ll have it by Xmas.

Watch out!  Brag alert!  My oldest is nine and she has gotten a first and second in equitation and second and fourth in pleasure this show season already.  She has three more shows this summer then she\'s just riding the winter away. LOL!  She wasn\'t at all surprised about how well she\'s doing.  "After all, I have the best pony there is, Momma!"  Says it all.  LOL!  What she doesn\'t know is that her daddy and I are going to try to buy that pony for her at the end of the season. LOL!  OK, I admit, we love that pony too.

Sorry I\'ve been away so long.  Been super busy!

Cool!  You should never have to worry about braging on your kids.

hooray for your daughter!  how lovely to think you might be able to buy that pony for her.  man... one thing i do truly miss from high school - riding every day.  sigh...   good for her!
Peace.

Well, we have a truck.  My husband never thought he would buy a truck quite that big but he likes it.  It\'s a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500.  We got it on sale, all set up for towing.  We took it to a horse show today and it did fine with gas.  We need to get a trailer to really know for sure, though.  So, now we\'re looking for a cheap trailer. LOL!

Two third place ribbons today for the girl.  She did great on a horse she had never ridden!  She\'s pretty proud!  LOL!

gkg

double yay for the girl!

you need to have a full trailer to really know - horses aren\'t lightweights and the combined weight will make a big difference in mileage i\'d be more than willing to bet.

how fun for you guys though.   :D
Peace.

It sounds like a blast, stuffy. One of the best reasons I can think of to have a truck! Riding sounds fun -- I never had the knees for it though. Do you ride too, or is it just your daughter?

That's wonderful, many regards to you and your Daughter!  Please keep us posted.  At this point I would say 'Cowgirl up' but I don't think that quite applies, however 'You go girl' works well.

Congrats, I love my Dodge; I hope yours brings you not only to the places you want to go, but off the beaten path as well.  Remember the road less traveled...etc, etc, etc.  My better half just bought me motorcycle and the only thing running through my head right now is...Oh, my God what was I thinking!
