I\'d NEVER complain about what you do Travis, never.

Fact is, you\'re one of my most favoritest places to order from. So this is just a suggestion, based upon my latest purchase of That 1 Guy\'s new album Packs A Wallop! from the Artist Farm. The way they have it set up is that when you order, either physical or digital, you can download your purchase immediately, in whatever format you\'d prefer. I think that this is totally the way of the future. You get choice of preference AND instant gratification, what could be better than that?

I LOVE this arrangement. I guess maybe it\'s not for every artist, but if I had my druthers I\'d have this purchase model for everything I buy. It was cheap & easy and SO satisfying! Fast too! I was listening to my purchase mere minutes after PayPal\'ing for it.



I would totally KILL to be able to listen to my new Buckethead purchase while waiting for it to come in the mail. As I said, you are fast and awesome in your mailing, so it\'s not like it\'s a big deal to have to wait for it, I mean I\'ve waited this long so what\'s another week or so, right?

I do NOT mean to sound ungrateful or impatient, as I said I LOVE your store here Travis, it\'s one of the best. Period. I just wonder what you think of this other, different system? Would it be a possibility here?

Just my .02, but I\'d rather rip the actual CD on to the computer at the best bit rate I can. Seems like online services skimp on the bitrates a bit too much...

And Travis is amazingly quick getting the albums out any way!

This is something we may do at some point. At the moment though we rather like the few days of anticipation. As someone I know says, things are too easy now, everyone wants everything right now. Didn\'t looking at your presents under the tree for several days before Christmas prolong the whole experience? Isn\'t it fun to speculate wildly and completely off base and have a few people make stuff up from whole cloth only to be made to look ridiculous when the real thing arrives?
I could go on and on but...hmmm, maybe that\'s just me. Oh well, at least I\'m having fun.

Also, as I\'ve said here many times. If you don\'t want to buy something you know nothing about...don\'t. Wait a few days, there will be plenty of feedback as soon as the first CD\'s arrive.

I don\'t savor the anticipation, at all. As I mentioned, what I REALLY loved was that once I paid for my CD I was listening to it almost immediately. If I was scared about ordering it I wouldn\'t have. Like I said previously, the T1G model was absolutely perfect for me. The CD is coming in the mail AND I am listening to it in the meantime. Best of both worlds.

I know it will be here soon, you always send them out so fast it\'s almost scary sometimes Travis. I would never have anything bad to say about the way that you do business. I just had this one suggestion based upon what I\'d experienced somewhere else, which I thought was the best idea in the World.

I like that you\'re not closed to the idea entirely. As you said, it may happen in the future. Imho, this could put your already excellent store right at the top of the heap.

Again, I\'m not complaining, whatsoever.

Yeah.  I agree with that.  I think Buckethead is the kind of artist that the instant download might not work for.  Besides, what would life as a Buckethead fan be w/o all the wild new cd speculations, hopes, and complaints?

Looks like T1G has a neat thing going, but I personally like the tease or the anticipation of getting an actual cd, perusing the artwork, etc...And most of all, having the hard copy for my collection. None of the digital hassles of a crappy bit-rate, and it may be one extra layer for an artist to stay away from the illicit file sharing services, or at least delay it a bit.

Buckethead and TDRS are exceptions in my music-purchasing habits. I\'ve stopped buying CDs for a number of reasons, mainly because I don\'t want the physical clutter, and because they are not environmentally sustainable either. I also don\'t own a stereo system so the CD itself would never get played. But the reason I buy Buckethead CDs is because I already have an extensive collection and I know that they often seem to run in limited quantities. An album available today may not be a year from now. So even if TDRS implemented an instant-download system, I probably wouldn\'t use it. I like getting stuff in the mail. I also enjoy the anticipation of it, and with unique projects like ISOT, it\'s even better. It\'s total grabbag not knowing what you\'re gonna get. "The suspense is terrible. I hope it\'ll last."

The things you wait for sometimes have a better payoff when you actually get it rather than getting it whenever you want it. Someone once mentioned the same thing to me. It\'s like when you were a kid and The Wizard of Oz would come on TV once a year. Now you can watch it whenever wherever. Sure it\'s convenient but you lose a certain quality to it that made watching it after waiting all that time as fun.

in fact  thats how i got my first  bucket  cd  colma!   thought it looked  cool  had  no  idea  what it  sounded  like   and  the  next  week  i  went  back  and  bought bucketheadland  1  and  monsters and robots....
