QuoteI emailed Brain about this a couple days ago and today he sent me a response:

"This El Stew is "Not Authorized"... Its a scam!"

I don\'t think it is a scam to the fans because people are actually getting the cd but I do think Disk might be scamming Brain, Extrakd, Eddie Def, and Buckethead by not getting compensated for this release. IDK?

worst part is hes charging twice as much and paying the rest absolutely nothing
He works on the farm,
He makes fun of me,
But thats the lats thing youll see,
Cuz im gone use him for something that you wont understand

UPDATE: 4.10.11 THIS IS A SCAM AS PER BRAIN!!!

BUYER BEWARE

I e-mailed Brain to ask him about this and here is his response. In addition, I also e-mailed Travis previously and his response is further below.

4.8.11 - Hey Brain

There is some major concern that this CD being released is not legit. Can you share any info on this? A lot of people want to know your position on this>

4.10.11 - Brain's response: "Not authorized... Its a scam!"

3.10.11 - Previous response from Travis: "Sorry, I don't know anything about these. They are not from TDRS. I doubt they are real LE's."

Therefore, if you buy these, you are buying an unauthorized bootleg and you are NOT supporting Buckethead or Brain.

Look, this cd is coming directly from DJ Disk. If you want to call it a bootleg go ahead. I for one do not think it is a scam and will not until someone can proove that DJ Disc does not have a right to sell this. His compositions as a turntablist are the centerpeice of this disc. Since this a rehersal and I assume their are no legaly binding music studio contracts with this, I think it is difficult to say it is a scam.

Who owns the music?

Why does Disc not have a right to sell his music?

Has Disc earned his share from other recordings he has appeared on, such as the first rehearsal disc?

I do not know the answers to these questions but it makes me go hmmmmm....

I decided to buy it and I am not dissapointed.

If its a rehersal, i think that the music is owned by those who played in such rehersal

Why does Disc not have a right to sell his music?

He has every right to sell his music, as long as its only HIM who is playing and not someone else who has not given any permision for his apearance to be in such a record (wether he is getting payed or not)

Has Disc earned his share from other recordings he has appeared on, such as the first rehearsal disc?

I am not aware of any specifics but if the album was released under the right channels, Buckethead, Brain, DJ, and everyone else involved are entitled to their fair share of the income. That beign said, i hardly doubt that either Bucket or Brain would be capable of releasing something without doing things the right way.

Just got mine, signed, quite impressed.

It was wrapped in a gay chat sex line newspaper page. Is that normal?

Seems like it. On the other side is a classified section on medicinal marijuana. Sounds like it could be one or the other.
