I absolutely Adore this album, I\'ve spun it dozens upon dozens of times, and never less than thrice at each sitting!!!
I agree with you EllaM., purple is my fave too and  this is sooo soothing, it\'s inspired me to make a second mixed disk of meditaton, mell-o B.

The Lotus is the perfect emblem for several reasons, and paired with the bruised blue hues of the artwork, it seems to portend to the introspective reflections within. (like the beautiful line drawing seems to be having!)  The playing is at once strong and delicate, sensuous songs that peel down to a raw core; hypnotic, melodic and down right catchy!!

I especially like Dawn Appears, with it\'s heartbeat kickdrum murmurs and airy, harpsichord like builds, nub ons n offs in low low tones.  Allowed to Play reminds me of She Sells in it\'s cadence and dis harmonic sustains.  If Squid Ink gets live play it should inspire a dancing frenzy, do the inky-ink kidz!!

Overall I especially like the sonic carvings; the space between the notes, and the extra low tones that resonate so full it\'s as if the instrument had f-holes!!
Bravo, Brav-0!!!

I made sure A Real Diamond In The Rough was on my mp3 player before going on retreat.  One morning before breakfast I decided I wanted to get absorbed in music so I went into the tea lounge and sat down next to a guy who was taking the same seminar as me.  He asked me what I was listening to and I said Pink Floyd.  He gave me a yucky face because it wasn\'t yoga music.  I listen to music pretty loudly and it was pretty quiet in there.  I was secretly laughing to myself while The Clash, Pantera, GZA and Coma from Enter The Chicken blasted.

A Real Diamond In The Rough is a great album to get absorbed in though.

Yeah headcheese, he might or might not be gay. If he\'s not, then he is perfectly valid as a person and artist.

If he is gay, however, then you have been wasting your time with all those 122 posts you have posted to the board. All those excellent compositions and solos, they all actually suck.

Oh, and headcheese. If for some reason you decide that Bucket is in fact gay, you can unload all of the bucket CDs you own to me.

I can\'t imagine caring less about something than I do about the sexual tendencies of the man behind Buckethead.

If he was gay, that wouldn\'t mean his compositions and amazing solos suck. They\'re amazing because no one is that incredible. And by the way, the man behind the mask isn\'t gay. He has a girlfriend at least.

I am pretty sure sculpin99 was being sarcastic.

Since this album has a lotus on it and I know Buckethead has a song called Padmasana, which is lotus pose...  I thought I\'d mention another pose Buckethead might like, which is savasana or corpse pose.
