Question for Travis:

Any chance of either "Sparko" (Tony) or "Misfits" (Eliza) coming back in print?

Travis

That would be great wouldn\'t it. I\'ll make a few calls and see what Tony and Eliza are up to.

That would be great, Travis. Thanks a bunch!

Thanks for the updated links, Travis.

I really hope you get to have more of their CDs for sale here.

...ehm...Travis?

Eliza\'s link works really well, but Tony\'s doesn\'t seem to get anywhere. At least, nowhere with things for sale   ???

Oh well, guess I\'ll just have to scout around the Net and hope he\'ll have more product available here sometime! Would really like to get my hands on a copy of Sparko, and I\'m seriously allergic to eBay.

yeah - i have problems with that site too - you get nothing but a field of razzberries when you try to go to the record pages.

if you\'re looking for old stuff - X related - go here...  http://www.xtheband.com/records.html
Peace.

gkg, looking more for his solo country-ish work, thanks though for the link.  :)

Travis, muchas gracias, I hope he\'ll pass on some product! I\'ll be right there to pick up on it!  ;D

Very glad to report that I finally found a copy of Sparko, on evil eBay  :-[, but at least it\'s in good condition. Most impressed with "The Everyman" and "Enredaste mi vida", but also very interesting to hear the different interpretation for "He Wanted" which is "She Wanted" on Exene Cervenka\'s Old Wives\' Tales (they co-wrote it). And of course I had downloaded "A home in Angelino" when Travis had it up on the free MP3 page earlier on.

Just wanted to say, it\'s well worth it if you can find a copy!

I\'ve got 3 of Eliza Gilkyson\'s CDs so far, Land of Milk & Honey & Misfits from her web-site, and Through the Looking Glass again from the evil eBay. (it\'s pretty hard to know where else to go for OOP stuff)

WOW! what a musical family!  8)

Her latest, Land of Milk & Honey, is very political, suiting my mood perfectly, but such wonderful music to go with the biting lyrics. "Hiway 9" and "Tender Mercies" really stand out for me. She was on the folk festival circuit a bit last year & I\'m definitely writing to my local festival organizers to suggest her for ours next year!

Highly recommended. I don\'t know if you\'ll ever have any more of their product, Travis, but I found them here first! Many thanks for the introduction.

I\'m so excited  ;D  ;D  ;D -- Eliza Gilkyson will be playing our local folk festival, in Ottawa Canada, one of the limited number she\'s booked for this year. Counting the days until August 19th  -- she\'s playing an earlybird concert & won\'t be around on the weekend. (I know she isn\'t on Travis\'s current list, but figured it was ok to bump this early thread.)

Seriously folks, check out her website, she\'s super!  And if any of you are located in or near one of her shows, go for it, you won\'t be disappointed.  8)

OK, I have to gush a bit... :o  ::)  :P

Saw Eliza Gilkyson at the Thursday night early-bird concert of the Ottawa Folk Festival last night, and she is even better in person than on CD. (Often the case, but you never know; some musicians are better in studio) She\'s been doing a lot of folk festivals in Canada this year and I hope she makes us a regular stop! I really identify with her (she\'s around my age & so we\'ve lived through the same times) and find her lyrics and music/arrangements compelling. She\'s articulate, intelligent, and funny!

Lots of good new songs, and TWO new CDs, Paradise Hotel and Retrospecto. I\'m in heaven!!!  ;D I also got a copy of one of her earlier CDs, Hard Times in Babylon, and one of Land of Milk & Honey, for a friend.

She was signing, and we had a little chat. I told her I found her through here! (And Travis, she says "Travis? He\'s great!" and I agree   ;D )

She had taken a break during her festival tour and went down to visit Cindy Sheehan at Camp Casey, and mentioned that she had just missed Viggo Mortensen, who had been there the day before. She embarrassed a lot of us in the audience by saying how glad she was to have us as neighbours, and how a lot of people she knew had scouted land in Canada after the last election but had finally decided they needed to stay in the good ole USA and do their best to change things from within.  And then she lambasted Dubya & cronies with some great songs.

Travis doesn\'t have any of hers in stock right now, but I\'m sure he won\'t mind a plug for Eliza\'s site: http://www.elizagilkyson.com/

Go Eliza!!!

Thanks for that. Eliza is one of my favorites. She is well worth seeking out. I\'m glad you got a chance to meet her, thanks for saying hi for me.
