Hi there, first post for me. :)

I\'m a fan of Vince DiCola\'s music, but there is a query I\'ve had about a piece of his music that appears in Rocky IV that I was hoping some one might be able to answer.

It\'s when the Robot comes in with a Birthday cake for Paulie. The happy birthday Paulie scene. There\'s this really cool electronic music that accompanies the scene which is obviously Vince, but I have no Idea what it\'s called or if it\'s available on CD anywhere, as it didn\'t feature on the soundtrack.

It has been bugging me for a while as I\'ve heard the piece of music used elsewhere on documentaries, I wonder if it\'s only available as stock music now?

Hope someone can help.

Cheers.

Hi infintium.

Hey I\'m also a huge DiCola fan myself. What I would like to ask you if this perticular piece your talking about is on Youtube? I\'ve been searching and trying to figure out what part of the movie this is.
Do it with style, or Don't bother doing it.

Hi there,

It\'s a video with all the robot bits from Rocky IV edited together, the music in question starts 14 seconds in, they only use a short snippet of the tune, as I\'ve heard the whole thing used before on documentaries.

Hey... that tune.... I\'ve been listening to it what you mean... it sounds very very simular to the famous Unicron theme Vince made for the Animated Transformers movie from 1986. The beat follows the same patern as the Unicron theme does.

I think you might have got something there. Good find.

Hi guys,

Wow - you picked a pretty obscure piece of music from my film repertoire to comment on!   I\'ll have to check that YouTube video Mixmaster mentioned.  I guess one of the percussive elements in "Paulie\'s Robot" could be perceived as having something in common with my Unicron Theme, but obviously the "Paulie\'s Robot" music is much lighter in tone.

I will say that some of the elements I used in a lot of the Drago scenes from ROCKY IV were also used as a stylistic basis when I was originally developing the Unicron music for TRANSFORMERS.  I don\'t recall how they much they featured my music in the Drago scenes in ROCKY IV, but if you go back and check out the movie you may be able to hear the comparison.  (If and when I ever get the opoortunity to release my previously unreleased score music from ROCKY IV, I\'m sure this comparison will become even more obvious.)

I can\'t imagine my "Paulie\'s Robit" music would have too many uses other than for that scene in that particular movie, so it was a surpsise to hear from Infinitium that it HAS been used elsewhere.  Cool!

Thanks again for your interest and support.  My appreciation is ongoing.

Cordially,
Vince
