travis what equipment do i need to record my tracks?whats the process to get this done?

dtuck

why bother travis with this question when, if he has the time to respond, will include so much technical jargon to produce a professional recording that you\'d wished you\'d never asked.  instead, try asking someone else here, who can tell you how to do it at a low cost of $7, granted you have an amplifier.

If you have an amplifier, output on your amplifier, and a sound card on your computer: purchase the cords and adapters to run from your amp output to your input on your computer.  download for free or purchase recording software. and then your set.  i use adobe audition software (formerly cool edit).  most good software will cost you at least $100 but you can find free downloads easily enough.

to get an even better sound, you can purchase a behringer 4 track mixer for $50, run your keyboard to the mixer and out to the computer (granted your computer has a soundcard).  and again you need the software.

if your keyboard has a midi interface, you can purchase the midi to computer output input cables that will include the software to do what you want to do.  the capabilities of midi are huge but limited (this kid in my class took a midi keyboard and wrote a program to turn it into a granular synthesis generator.  he used the pitch modulator to alter the duration of the grains and programmed certain keys to control pitch range, grain volume, and again grain duration.  its pretty cool)

or, if you have a microphone input on your computer, you could simply purchase a p.o.s. computer microphone and put it up to your keyboard speaker.  if you have a microphone input then your computer will have a crappy recording program that will let you make sound files.

if i were you, i would get:

recording software
mixer
amplifier
professional microphone
