Recording Program

I just found an old computer sitting around in my house and decided that, with a decent mic, I could begin recording my stuff.

Does anybody have a recording program better than the crap I can find on download.com that they can send to me?

yeah, audacity is alright, that was going to be my back-up if I couldn\'t find anything better haha
