I\'ll bite.

To be a Buckethead fan, you don\'t need to love everything he does. If you don\'t like what he is doing, you don\'t have to keep your mouth shut.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion (and to voice it) and they have the right and choice not to buy an LE if they don\'t want to. This doesn\'t mean you don\'t have to buy one.

Buckethead is not an infallible god. I\'ve been listening to his stuff for 12 years and he is the most important artist in my life. That said, I don\'t listen to a good 35% of his music because I don\'t really enjoy it.

Does that make me any less of a fan? Sounds like most of you think so...and I won\'t argue because its my opinion.

I haven\'t gotten Spinal Clock LE yet (still waiting), but i\'m going to give it a fair shake...i\'m a little wary based on the samples but i\'m a bit of a collector (not completist mind you) so I picked it up.

Its one thing to be a fan...its another to be obsessive and believe everyone who says they are a Buckethead fan has to love and appreciate everything he has ever done in his life.

I appreciate the LE\'s...i have almost all of them, but at what point do they stop being special to the listener? Well, as I mentioned before, that depends on the listener and fan.  For some, it will always be special...for others, it won\'t. No need to fight about it...

Like any fans, Buckethead fans need to vote with their wallet...and I believe they should have the right to provide criticism and feedback as well.  An artist should not have to live without constructive criticism in my opinion...it allows them to become complacent.

Anyway, here I am defending those who have complained about the LE\'s...you can agree with me or not...it matters not to me in the long run.  I will vote with my wallet with each release as I always have.

Well said.

EDIT:
To be fair, I think this whole thing got out of hand. The guy was simply mentioning he\'d prefer the total number of LEs to be as low as possible. Everyone went ape sh-t, but it really wasn\'t necessary.

I agree with you... Example: needle in a slunk stack sucked bad... It sounds like a remix of inbred mountain and crime slunk scene. IM and CSS are amazing epic albums though! Spinal clock is a wicked variation of buckethead, he def explores other weird dimensions of music in this album. I think you\'ll be pleased.... I know I am!

^I haven\'t got either yet, but I think with all* music:
It doesn\'t suck per se, it just isn\'t your thang

*All music within reason. Pop is exempt from this rule - It really does suck.

I wish Buckethead would come to the UK.

Needle in a slunk stack sounds like recycled material. I have zero issues with anyother album. After listening to inbread mountain and crime slunk scene for a while. Needle in a slunk stack just didn\'t  sound up to par with buckethead\'s wild talent.... Just an opinion.....

According to what I\'ve read, Needle in a Slunk Stack and Forensic Follies both use recycled material. That may be why they sound like recycled material. ;) I don\'t own either, so I can\'t confirm how much is recycled by the use of my own ears.

Alex, I\'m not going to start an argument about what you said, and I wholeheartedly agree that pop music today is garbage, but it\'s my personal opinion that all rap music is garbage as well. (Also, pop music didn\'t suck so much back in the 60s-80s eras of music.)

I think there are some awesome tracks on FF and NIASS.  For instance Trunk of the Tree is incredible, IMO.

ella_mental

So is it ok to complain about just the regular albums then?

I like NIASS.

Whale_On_This

I think everyone likes to complain.
Its all good.
I happen to enjoy Spinal Clock.
It\'s not a 10, but its enjoyable enough that I know I will pull it out every now and again to spin it.
Best Regards is a lot of fun to listen to, if you\'re in the right mood.
Its like pizza...

Cheers all...i was expecting a bit more flaming but i\'m happy to see that most of you agree at least to a point.

You don\'t need to like everything he\'s ever done to be a real fan. I think thats a real misconception with a lot of Buckethead fans. They feel they need to love and defend everything he\'s ever done.

I listen to what I enjoy and what I don\'t enjoy sits on the shelf...CONSTRUCTIVE feedback is what is important though. I\'m sure BH is happy to see people providing feedback (what artist isn\'t?) thats not just gushing admiration. I would imagine that gets old fast!

Anyway, I haven\'t been much of a fan of the last few he\'s released....and thats ok because a lot of other fans do love them.  (I think...hehe)

Like i said, i will give Spinal Clock a fair shake! Some people seem to be really digging it so I\'m excited to finally receive it. Maybe today is the day!

The complaints related to the spinal clock le were about how they conducted their business. NOT THE MUSICAL CONTENT.......... I stated my opinion on NIASS. If you listen to inbred mountain and crime slunk scene before listening to NIASS, you\'ll hear a TON of previously recorded material....And that\'s a fact...

I think you missed the point of NIASS and Forensic Follies.

The intention was to use old material to make new songs...NONE of it was new material as far as I am aware.

Listen to it with that in mind and you may change your mind....you may not. Either way, now you know! :)
