If the batteries or hard disk in B\'s backup band (iPod) ever died that\'s what I\'d pay good money to see.

Eggman I know what you are saying, I have heard the same sentiments from other Bucket fans. As awesome as Buckets bands are, I really enjoy the ipod show we have been seeing lately. Look at it this way, one thing to enjoy about both Bucket and T1G (other than the music obviously) is that they are more than mere musicians, they are entertainers and performers. I see them as the 1-man-bands of the 21ist century, being able to command a stage as a solo act.
I'm not a musician but I have alot of friends who are and I have been told being in a band can be really frustrating sometimes. Being in a band can break up friendships between bandmates and even family. I don\'t think this is the case with Big B but he\'s at an age and stage in his music career that he\'s gonna do what he wants to do. I'm not saying that I don't want to see Giant Robot or think the ipod sounds better than a live drummer but if this is how Bucket wants to express himself right now; I'm all on board the train!

Now... another thing I would like to say is that I enjoy something I have never seen before more than something I have. With that being said I hope to someday attend a live Thanatopsis show, preferably here in Hawaii but if it ever happens on the west coast, I'll be there.

I agree Duck about the modern-day one man band concept. If you think about B\'s penchant for robots it makes sense. Electronically stored music backing up the big kabuki guitar playing nunchuck-wielding chicken-fingered robot dancing visual artist. My wife always said B was a performing artist and I agree. I also think it must take lotsa guts to get up in front of a crowd and entertain people like B does for how long he does it-the man really must be a robot because he has insane stamina and skills.

Otherwise, I like the band environment  for the non-robot aspect, real cymbal smashes, string noise, the amps heating up during the performance-it\'s all very appealing to me. B is such a great rhythm player as well, his riffs are killer, I would love to hear him play his solos on top of those great riffs with a rhythm guitar foundation (a real player with amp). It\'s so much different than the entire band mix coming out of the PA. So I\'ll revise my dream request and say Giant Robot with a rhythm guitar player, yeah that\'s it.

Eggman, I thought the same as your wife re: Buckethead as a performance artist.  He\'s just so much more than a musician/guitarist.  He is an artist.

...let\'s add Gene Frenkle to that dream request.
