just out of curiosity.......................i was wondering if buckethead and you ever heard of guitarist.........Bumblefoot...............?????.

......if so .....what do you guys think of him.............?
him and buckethead have a very similar style and from what i heard, bumblefoot would love to record with buckethead...............

if you havent heard of bumblefoot......you should without a doubt check him out......as he will change your perception of what\'s possible with the guitar.....

peace.......

canary

oh yeah...one more thing...........

check out the song ........ " poem song" from bumblefoot.....sickkkkkkkkkk...........Ron Thal speaking in a strange monotone that he wrote a poem years ago and the words are VERY SACRED to him and that NO-ONE is ever going to know them and that he has assigned the letters in the words of the poem to musical notes and made a bizarre guitar-only composition that is comprised of these notes based on the words.

The music is to put it mildly extremely weird - it sounds like Morse code on the guitar.

Someone will have to try and figure out all the notes and then see if they can assign the notes to a letter to decode whatever the poem is but I fear it will be extremely difficult - the notes in the song veer into two note diad-style chords for a bit so I fear his "letter-to-note" key is a lot more complex than just letter a = key = e or whatever. I fear he has certain chords meaning letter combinations.

i wonder if buckethead can decipher those notes........since it does sound like buckethead playing that song..............hmmmmmmm weirdd...............................

thanx anywayzzzzzzz..........................

I only know the name, I can\'t say as I\'ve ever heard any.  Buckethead may have, he has a really good working knowledge of guitar players. For myself, I tend to be less interested in players for their technique and more into what they play and it\'s emotional context to what\'s being played, cords changes, mood and lyrical content of phrasing. Thats one of the things I like about Buckethead, he\'s a good technical player but he has a very strong emotional element he brings to his playing. I\'m not suggesting your guitar player doesn\'t, don\'t know, haven\'t hear any, but from your description it sounds like he\'s into pure technical excursions. Is he doing both? For you, what makes a good musician? Since we are talking curiosity.

what I learned from Bumblefoot, was that he has some very interesting ways of capturing human emotions with his instrumentation, tones, arrangements, and phrasings that he deploys so tactically to this end........................My take on Ron Thal is that you can\'t look at the chops, tones, and guitar work he utilizes in his compositions for their own value. But, you do have to look at the way that he arranges them to see what emotional effect they convey in the context of the rest of the composition. To me, bumblefoot is not about guitar chops and technicianry, he is about emotional impact on your psyche through composition... ...............................................his guitar capabilities definitely widen the scope of emotions that he is able to convey. And, this is just my view of things and I wouldn\'t want to state it as his purpose, because only he can say what that is!

...........
............
if and when you check him out.................i was wondering if you would take the consideration of possibly getting in contact with him for a possible future collaboration..........................with you guys.

peace

Thanks Canary,

He sounds well rounded, I\'ll keep my ears out for him.

Justin Binge Buddy

I am aware that the two have met, and Bumblefoot asked Buckethead if they could collaborate, Bumblefoot doing vocals...he said Buckethead doesn\'t return phone calls though...hehehheh

Travis

Yea, you kinda need to know the tap tap taping sound on the other end when you pick up the phone.

Travis

CreatedToKill

Or that mumbling sound that BH does on I think "I Love My Parents" when he messes up!

Travis

Oh yea, that explains those calls.
