When I think about Buckethead playing with an Ipod or doing something his fans don\'t like or understand (I\'ll admit I am guilty of that), it reminds me of the time Dylan "went electric". Quote from the attached story ".....Dylan was in a rage because he was absolutely sure of what he was doing. It's not the job of an audience to tell an artist what they can and cannot do."

and....

Some say Dylan was inspired (or challenged perhaps) by an exchange he had with John Lennon. Dylan slammed Lennon, essentially dismissing The Beatles lyrically– "you guys have nothing to say", was the message.  Lennon's counter was to enlighten Dylan of the fact that– he had no sound, man. Whether or not it resulted in Dylan going electric, or The Beatles writing more introspective lyrics, who knows–  but it's a helluva story.

I can see where your making that connection but its not inovative to play with an ipod.  I my opinion is that its really a step back not forward.  It does not sound have the same sound as live performers.   If thats the case lets replace buckethead with an ipod and get musicans to play the live music... that would never fly because its too much like lip-syncing.

Thanks for sharing some info on Dylan and Lennon... I did not know that and find it much interesting.

Sorry Buckethead but your so much better live when your with real musicans... ditch the ipod!
