I tried out that Buckethead guy. I met with him and asked him to work with me, but only if he got rid of the fucking bucket. So I came back a bit later, and he\'s wearing this green fucking Martian\'s-hat thing! I said, \'Look, just be yourself.\' He told me his name was Brian, so I said that\'s what I\'d call him. He says, \'No one calls me Brian except my mother.\' So I said, \'Pretend I\'m your mum then!\' I haven\'t even got out of the room and I\'m already playing fucking mind games with the guy. What happens if one day he\'s gone and there\'s a note saying, \'I\'ve been beamed up\'? Don\'t get me wrong, he\'s a great player. He plays like a motherfucker.

+1 Ozzy didn\'t make fun of his look and he also praised buckethead for his guitar playing.

To be honest, I\'m not much into Death Cub K\'s previous efforts. I like the ambience and effects and all..but just not my thing. I\'d like to buy this for my Buckethead collection, but from hearing that its pretty much in the style of  DeathCube K\'s other albums..I don\'t see myself listening to it. Sorry!!!

I like his acoustic flamenco style in "If the World". Yes, Frank Ferrer did redo some of Brain\'s drum tracks from the credits I\'m seeing per song. Glad Axl left most if not all of Buckethead\'s guitar parts. Axl did replace all of Brian May\'s parts in "Catcher in the Rye" with his current guitarist lineup. Axl could\'ve replaced some of Bucket\'s parts with the current guitar players, but he left most of it in...because Buckethead is that dang good to meet Axl\'s very very high standards. Overall, this album is just amazing!

The new Guns N Roses album that is! Nothing political here..lol Just heard the rest of the album previewed online. Awesome album! Some songs, I can tell it\'s Buckethead playing and he does an incredible job on it! Even if you\'re not a Guns N Roses fan, this album is still worth a listen. Album comes out this Sunday at Best Buy and this Tuesday for the rest of the stores. If you guys had a listen with it or end up buying the album, please tell me what you think of it! Thanks!

Edit:Just found out the album isn\'t going to be released at all stores until the beginning of next year. For now, its a Best Buy exclusive and itunes.

QuoteIm just talking about a tour guitarist, not someone that would steal his thunder but would inhance the musical experience.

Hes shared the stage with other musicians before, so I dont see him as unwilling to try something like this out.

Im sure buckethead will do what he wants... Im just glad to see him tour and still release great recordings.

I\'d love to be his tour guitarist. I\'d have the best time of my life!

QuoteSomeone (obviously a gibson insider) said:

the pickup\'s (which is what everyone seems to want to know)
neck p/u is a Dimarzio Tone Zone, bridge p/u is a Dimarzio Air Norton.
Do you mean the other way around? Dimarzio Tone Zone for bridge and an Air Norton for neck. That seems to be a popular Dimarzio combo. I also hear from his guitar tech that his are Gibson 500T and a 496R combo. This is the first time I\'m hearing the Tone Zone/Air Norton combo as far as buckethead using them.

QuoteYep, thats it. They have a little saw cut in the corner of the jewel case.

What\'s the reason for that, Travis? Is it a record company thing?

I\'m waiting for it to arrive. Is ok to skip buying light years and enjoy this album instead? hehe

Buckethead is one of my influences in life and guitar playing. Opened me up and made me not afraid to play my very own style of music.  Also amped me up to pump out my guitar demos. Hopefully recording 4 tracks this year!

Here\'s a video of an interview regarding Buckethead\'s gear.

This is what I truly believe. For sure X2n\'s in both positions on his white KFC V Jackson. He has also used X2N\'s in his other guitar in his early early videos of him playing.  The white les paul\'s even though in wikipedia says that they are Dimarzio\'s are Wrong!!! They are the Gibson 500T and 496R\'s painted white. That\'s what his guitar tech said when some fan had asked him about it.

I also noticed the front cover of the "Kevin\'s Noodle House" cd has some Vietnamese words above it. Pho is a Vietnamese noodle soup. Rock!
