I remember cords, or the word at least. Just not how to do them anymore.
What I meant about painful in getting started was the uncomfortable period in toughening up the finger tips and the painful feeling of being all thumbs in the beginning, and of course the times when the sound is hard on the ears. But putting all that aside as part of the learning, and re-learning process I think it should be fun.
Is it fun yet sngwthme?? Sounded like you felt so.

Good luck with the new guitar sngwthme, I played as a kid and you make me think of taking it up again. I love your enthusiasm. Does anyone have suggestions on how to make it less painful to start up again? With all of the previous posts I feel confident I can purchase a new guitar, my old one is way old even though I still have it. Not even sure if it has a brand name on it! I think I used a tuning fork to tune it..............does that date me too much? Thanks for any suggestions.

Glad to hear you\'re ok up there, hearing and reading about it was Deja vu-ish for me. (is that a new word?)
 I survived the fires down here in San Diego area in 2003, nicknamed "Fire Storm of 2003" and know all about evacuation with family, horses, dogs, cats and leaving home wondering if I\'d ever see it again. I was lucky but had many friends that were not. Many lost everything but at least only things that could be replaced, not lives.

I try to have the view point that no matter what happens, as long as I have a good story to tell and friends to share it with, it was a worthwhile experience.
Well Bella, you have a good story to tell and a good friend that you shared it with so, I say it was as it should be and a worthwhile experience.
Maybe someday I will tell the story of my trip to Oregon for New Years. Good luck on your next outing!

Thanks GKG for the idea that my horses are surfers!
I\'m near San Diego and we do get a nice ocean breeze now and then,............Maybe that\'s it!

As for Shayla, she seems to hear fine when she wants to, I just think she is an independant thinker and wants to call the shots and be followed, not the follower. I will keep an eye out for sensitive ears though, just to make sure.

Still listening to PT, and got caught up in it and noticed a new sound like wind chimes. sounded really great..........................Actually was wind chimes here in the house. I have the sliding glass door open and wind chimes hung just inside the door and the wind struck them a bit here and there and really blended nicely.
Maybe a new sound idea for the next one Viggo?

I\'m glad you all mentioned your animials, I have noticed my Great Dane, 6 yr old Heidi, looking intently at me when I play PT, like Right Now! The 2 yr old Boxer, Shayla goes in the other room, but then she chews on almost anything I give her and barks at the wind. Her sense of sound must be a little different.

 As for the "brain exploding tone", I can\'t wait to pass that on to my ex. He thinks he\'s a real music buff, actually tone deaf and partially hearing deaf, so it might REALLY get into his brain, or not.............will have to see.
Do you think the sound could be transmitted over the phone with the same effect? Sorry, my mind is wandering. I\'m enjoying the piano and Bongos (?) in Dream One.

I haven\'t played PT for my horses yet, but kinda think they might like something else. They seem to like a faster more regular beat that they can move to more rhythmically. Maybe they might like Moonset or Sunrise?Some of them really get into certain songs like Wipe Out and the theme to Hawaii 5-O. Who knew? Horses are busic buffs too.
 Like SNGWTHME said, maybe it was subconciously created for all animals.  Could this be a new way to market PT? Not just for you, but for your animals too!

I must say, this album is causing a lot of thought in a variety of directions.

   It is nice to read other reviews that match my feelings of PT. This is one album that I have been able to listen to whatever my mood and have found something new each time. Some other albums seem to be mood sensitive for me, glad this is not one of them  
I really like the classical guitar sounds in Sunrise, reminded me of when I was a kid and took classical guitar lessons. I never really was very good, but  it has given me a lasting appreciation for the sounds of it.

Well done to everyone involved in this, I\'m even more of a fan to all of the players than I was before! Thanks guys!

(I met Viggo back in January at Photo LA 2004, and I must say he is a very nice person. He took the time to chat with me about some of his photographs that I have purchased and he was soft spoken, polite, friendly and very real. He was even considerate enough to allow me to have a picture taken with him when he wasn\'t "posing" for photos that night. I appreciate his work of all types and the man himself and send him best wishes on his special day and the rest of the year).

Shoes, no shoes, flip flops, boots (without carrots please!) all have their place for me. Sometimes even just a pair of socks will do. They all have their time and place but I agree that bare feet feels the best, especially on thick carpet, or new sheets on the bed, or warm sand, or cool, wet sand on a hot day or............................well, you can fill in your own bare feet fantasy or start your own shoe fantasy/fetish.

I applaud any footwear that you can wear for 32 hours straight and still be happy with. Sound like Wonder Woman Boots to me! Boot scootin Boogie on and on..... GKG!

Chris, sounds like you might need steel toed boots to protect your tootsies! Colors should be on shoes, not toes, but maybe painted on toenails is ok?
I also agree that you need to keep carrots out of the boots, I feed them by hand but make sure you don\'t let the horse mistake fingers for veggies!
Glad you had a mostly super time at concert and thanks for sharing it with us.

I totally understand what you are saying. I have a 12 year old and we have watched all of the Presidential Debates together. Last night after the 3rd one he said, I wish I could vote, I know who I would choose. I then asked him questions about how he made his choice, and what things helped him decide. While there was some of the child reasoning of "just because" there were also points he made that showed me he was listening and dong his best to learn about the issues, where the candidates stood on them, and how it might affect the world. I\'m proud that he is taking the time and interest in these things at this age, I certainly didn\'t. Like you said, we need to encourage all people to become educated about what is going on and take part, not just to abstain. Being silent can also be taken as agreement with the prevailing opinion. The right to vote is serious and we need to protect it. As a physical therapist said to me "Use it or lose it". While he was talking about muscles, I think it applies to voting too.
We all can be swayed by humor and silliness and while I love a good laugh, I also try to look at the message attached. For those who go see the movie, have a good laugh but remember to look at the bigger picture of life and choose for yourself.
