Hey, Travis! When will this be available at the shop? Is there any chance, the non-US pals\'n\'gals could get this a bit earlier? ;-)

Hey man, its just one of the advantages of living in the good ol\' U S of A.
You guys get all the latest Posh Spice news before us...so why not let us have Buckethead?
New album kicks ass by the way!...and the new tour setlist is fun and adventurous

i\'m not exactly sure when his new release "Forensic Follies" will be available in the catalog, but it will most likely be after the tour is over. ;)

Ditto on the setlist!! All I\'m going by is the youtube clips but looks like alot of new stuff added in. I\'ve sometimes been critical of stagnant setlists but he\'s really made the effort to change things up last tour & apparently this one. I\'d MUCH rather give him credit for things....so here it is!!!
BH is amazing!

Awesome. I am going to the All Good Music festival and hearing this just makes the anticipation greater. I assume it is still mostly heavy. I wish he would mix in a bit more of his mellow stuff. I don\'t want that to dominate live by any means, but a couple more songs wouldn\'t hurt. I think a lot of the songs from Electric Tears would be awesome live.
soothsayer, scraps, and big sur moon in Portland.
I\'d say he\'s mixin in the mellow
Quotesoothsayer, scraps, and big sur moon in Portland.

Yeah, I guess I want a bit more variety. And Soothsayer isn\'t what I was really thinking of. More like Mustang or Kansas Storm. Anyway, I am sure it will be killer regardless.
definitely ;D
BTW, anyone know how long Big B has been using the MESA Stiletto?
Just noticed on Wednesday.
Quotedefinitely ;D

yeah, I guess the rectifiers have been giving him problems.
He\'s got a nice tone though. :)
Can anyone tell me if forensic follies has some completely original songs on it? The song i just heard had the drum track from "Korova Binge Bar" and there were othe guitar samples thrown in, one from "symmetrical Slug" i\'m sure.
The track i am refering to is "Splinter in a Slunks Eye"
Peace out
ok, having heard three songs from this album i am pretty sure i have it sussed (the three that i have heard anyway).
The sounds used aren\'t new, the drum tracks are from other songs and i reckon the sounds are little snippets from other songs too.
Anyone care to add
on .tk someone said the songs sound like remixes of other songs, so maybe that\'s what your hearing, i don\'t really wanna here any of it till the ride home from phili tonight ;)

Pound4abrown said he hears similarities with Kaleidoscalp, IOLM, CCOH, EMAC, IM, SOTP and maybe a little Dawn of the Deli Creeps. And he said only some of the songs use elements of other songs. He gave it a 7.73/10 rating. And if I understand that review correctly, the "remixes" are either B playing something along with the original song or manipulating the sound of it.
^^^oh, thanks

No problem. :)
I\'m really digging this new cd. VERY COOL STUFF.
As always, THANKS guys ;D

You totally scared the crap out of me. I was pretty sure I knew what day of the week it was, then I had to double check. I still feel rather dazed.
Well, Well, Well . . . . .
This gets better and better with each listen. Excellent concept. Works VERY well. Dang ! Thanks.
edit ...
track 10. " ( I\'LL BE ) TAKING CARE OF GRAMPA "
I really enjoyed that !

I listened to Forensic Follies this morning while drinking my coffee. I like it. It sounded pretty inspired to me. I\'m back on the sauce by the way. Coffee that is. God I love coffee...
I didn\'t want to listen to the album last night because I like to savor the ringing in my ears and partial deafness as kind of souvenirs in themselves.
Well, after having listened to it several times I\'m putting it somewhere near Kevin\'s Noodle House. I was more expecting a "musical" type album but this one is more of an experimental one. I won\'t say I don\'t like it, but at the same time I wouldn\'t put it on my top 10 list... yet. (But of course that could change).
After 3 full listens I\'ve decided that what\'s missing (for me anyways) is the lead parts over top. It sounds to me a lot like backing tracks. I think that if B put this on and then played lead over top of it it would be phenomenal.
This is what I (lovingly) call "bleepy-bloopy" music, a lot like Death Cube K stuff.
As I said, I\'m not writing it off just yet but I still like the more "musical" stuff that B plays. Hats off to the man though for playing whatever he wants to whenever he wants to. His musical freedom is unsurpassed. Kudos for that. If nothing else, he follows his heart. A rare commodity in this day & age in the music biz.

Weeee-hoo! ;D
yaaayyy, if babeintoyland can\'t get it for me at waka then i still have a chance to get it ;D :D
We certainly are spoiled. I didn\'t expect it this quickly. Sweet! The only drawback is that my third and final Buckethead CD case is completely full. I am going to have to find another case.
Spoiled Indeed, Slunkatron!! I can\'t believe we get a third album AND a tour already...and forget bookcases, we need a bigger CLOSET to store all the Bucket in the house with all the official And supplemental road cd\'s in the archives of Zintar!! LOVE IT!!
Forensic Follies goes Way beyond de-ja voodoo...this is more than a Mash...this is grafting with surgical precision, straight from the very head of Herbie from the looks of the cover, well, and Monti of course. I detect 5 sources from the cd picture, Inbred, Elephant, Slaughterhouse, Dawn of the Deli Creeps and a Real Diamond. I want to say Kaleidoscalp as well but I think the baby bozos I am hearing are Goat Host... I wonder if the sliver size coincides with the amount used? I\'m gonna have to go back over Inbred and Elephant again.
At any rate, the concept is fascinating, the results are fantastic, I\'m having a lot of fun Piece-ing this patchwork in my head. Even though it\'s been a bakers dozen of spins so far, I still think my phone is ringing, someone\'s at the door or I am in the game Gallaga at the challenging stage, some parts make me laugh, guffaw and chortle...itsa LOT of Fun!! The last track has me thinking of fuzzy green growth on static human forms, adrift in the woods instead of clean and in shop windows, that makes me giggle.
I think folks will need to buy two copies so they have one to dissect and one to stay pristine!
Thanks to Lefty for the leg up!! The road sounds great so far, it really feels like there\'s another shoe to drop, perhaps imminently, based on the few tracks no one can place so far.... SO Exciting!!
A lot of people are saying IOLM is used a lot in it. That makes me really excited as I love that album, even if I can only listen to it every once in awhile. It feels like an aural assault!
I\'ll get in on this love-athon by saying, how cool is it that we get to experience what results when Buckethead completely opens up and allows that guitar to play his vibrations for us! This is a beautiful, uplifting and ongoing sharing that we take part in, transmit, translate, and transmute. 8)

I think the last track is the only original one.

I don\'t know what ever1s complaining about this is an awesome ride so what if its remix\'d I tried remixing Funnel Weaver oh back in 06 er 07 it was pastee kut and reallly bad, this album rules I like like the sub sonic bass lines and how they intermingil with guitar
(cursed spellcheck gaaawd)
I agree Chris. I am loving this album. He puts out plenty "new" stuff. I love that he tries crazy things like this, especially since it turned out so well!
yEAh big UP to Island of the Lost Minds, In Search of the, Kalidascalp as well.
there was a maintence problem and they pointed it out in the title along with peices (peesiss).
yee Ha Fast shipping, too!
shop TDRS.com for all yer Buckethead slices, clothings.
YEahH neetoh neat oh fella.
( ha ha spell check is down )
diabolical
I have only been listening to Buckethead for two months. I have about 10 of his solo CDs now, plus two death cube and one thanatopsis CD. And some Praxis.
What I am trying to say is that I appreciate Bucket. However, shouldn\'t there be some sort of warning on Forensic Follies that basically says: \' The data on this CD only approaches what could be considered music. If you like this CD, it will only be after 10 listens. Plus, you will never like this CD if you aren\'t part of the church of bucket.\'
I\'m sorry, I had to get that off my chest. I am *this close* to being such a fan of Bucket that I accept every move of his as being some sort of devine act. But that was my hard-earned money Bucket!
OK...nuff said...One other small thing though. Earlier in this thread, someone referenced a user that gave \'Forensic Follies\' a rating of 7.73 out of 10.
Thanks so much to the original reviewer for taking those decimal places out to the hundreths. I would be lost without that type of precision! Actually, if you are reading this, could you expand those significant figures out a ways. I want to know what you really think, not some sort of vague approximation like 7.73
I understand his review perfectly, he liked it so much he almost gave it an 8 ;D
QuoteI understand his review perfectly, he liked it so much he almost gave it an 8 ;D
No, No. I don\'t like the hundredths. It bugs me.
Don\'t you cross me.
Bird bird bird, bird is the word.
I\'d give it a 10 on originality it self. who else would make music from there own music.
Yeah.
For all I know, Forensic Follies will hit me just right sometime, when I\'m least suspecting it. Then I will be singing it\'s praises. I\'m definitely into Slaughterhouse and A Real Diamond...
Thanks for bearing with me. I can get a little snippy.
Thats ok, you have to think of Bucket\'s home "here" as a wonderland of joy. ;D
Ah there it is...I just started up \'Broken Mirror\' from a A Real Diamond...and my tension is disappearing.

Since you are relatively new to Buckethead, you will learn that his releases are all over the place. You should research every release before purchasing to make sure it is something you will like. Personally, I will buy it regardless. Even the stuff I don\'t listen to all the time usually has something that makes me glad to have it, but I understand not everyone is that way. You can always ask someone on here what the album is like. Also, you might want to check out buckethead.tk. There are tons of people on there that are always sharing their opinions on Buckethead. You can get a pretty good read on what albums are like by checking around there. Anyway, sometimes with an album like FF that doesn\'t grab you right away the best thing to do is put it away for awhile. Come back later and give it another spin. Over time I think it will grow on you.

Thanks Slunkatron. I appreciate your thoughts. I think my negativity is probably misguided. After all, we do have the gift of Bucket, and the overwhelming majority of his material I like. Which is pretty astounding given the sheer volume of it. And who knows, maybe my appreciation for FF will grow. I know some of the less accessible Bucket (Death Cube and Praxis\' Sacrifist) has done this. So I\'ll have some patience.
Well, and if you do get an album you don\'t like, you can comfort yourself with the knowledge that unlike just about every other artist, you won\'t have to wait more than a month or so to get another release.
I\'m a newbie too, Sculpin99. It was a revelation, that day back in April, when I happened to search "Buckethead"...I\'ve been truly inspired and each payday I try to make a tdrs order to catch up!!!! (and have gotten his DVD\'s, as well) I am loving all the Buckethead incarnations (youtube helps...check out bunghole30); love the Deli Creeps, the work with Travis, DeathCubeK, the bucket, the mask etc. All I can say is a day without Buckethead is like a day without sunshine (and it\'s been pretty rainy here in NY)...Also, I was then lucky enough to see him on May 30 at BB Kings (didn\'t get a chance to give him the dancing robot doll, tho\')....WOW!!!! Between that show and seeing The Dave Brubeck Quartet last night, this summer, despite the rain, has been a great one thus far.
Also, there\'s another thread that irks me as it delves into the non-issue of Mr. Buckethead\'s life. I write "non-issue" because if anything was meant to be known about him he would have not put that mask on 20-odd years ago. We have been given a gift...let him be...

Yeah, it\'s B\'s way of copying himself yet being original at the same time. :)
