I\'m pretty sure this song means something to most of us who love Buckethead\'s beautiful expression. And, to some of us there are days when it means a little more. Sadly, for some of us, a day comes along where it suddenly means something very different, and we\'re touched and our hearts swell and we cry, but we\'re glad that this song is there because sometimes it helps get those things out and helps to get us through. I know of a sweet friend who this song is I\'m sure holding a whole new meaning for today, so I\'m putting this up for her since I\'m sure she\'ll be by here soon. Thinking of you. Hang in there. Big Love to you.

To my dear friend. I\'ll be looking for the brightest shooting star flying across the heavens tonight and will bow my head in a moment of silence and send the warmest Hawaiian moonlight hugs to you to help dry your tears. Hawai he olino aloha keia ia oe e (I give this bright ray of love to you).
Aloha Pumehana
May you have all the peace possible at this time.
Bucketheadland has led me down many different back alleys
and trap doors throughout the years. In one of those back alleys, I met somebody very special who has gone on to become one of my best friends. For that I am very grateful.
Sending positive energy and love your way.
I love you, buddy. Hang in there. See you soon.

I am truly sorry for your friend\'s loss. Buckethead can certainly help get us through times like this. I still just shake my head when I hear the common complaint that he does not play with emotion. To me Aunt Suzie is on of the most bittersweet songs I have ever heard.

hmmm, wow. haven\'t heard that complaint. that\'s beyond me. not sure how anyone can get that impression. one of my dearest loved ones actually passed today. she and i were very close but she was also blessed enough to live 97 really awesome years in this plane. oddly enough i\'ve been soothed by Inbred Mountain. go figure.

That is very sad news. I hope she was surrounded by loved ones until the end. My sincerest sympathies.
As far as the no emotion thing, I used to see it all the time in the comments on Buckethead youtube videos back when I was stupid enough to read comments on youtube videos.

thank you. she was indeed, and i seriously think she went "wiiiiii" when her spirit flew. she was ready.
ah, i see. that would explain it then. thanks for the heads-up, i\'ll continue being oblivious to youtube comments, haha.
Sympathies from me, too.
This emotion thingy is repeated by Slash fans all over since - ahem, ya know...
Just have a look at the Gibson message boards if you want either laugh or cry.

Right, it is basically a fallback on something completely unquantifiable in order for them to be able to claim their guy is better.
wow. you guys lost me. terror tram, derailed.
My condolences to you and your family Nuff, but WOW at 97 she must have seen so much change in the world and had equally as many stories, insight and wisdom.
When I lost a dear member of my family a little over a year ago I found the last few tracks of Colma to be very healing for me. It was just what was in the car at the time and to this day I am so grateful for that. A couple of those songs still bring tears to my eyes when I hear them as I will never be able to associate them with anything else.
My sincerest sympathies on your loss nuff. Sounds like you have some great memories with her. Sending good karma to you and your family.

I am sorry to hear about that, nuff. 97 years on this plane is a blessing. All of my best to you during this time.

QuoteFirst off - my condolences to you and your family Nuff, but WOW at 97 she must have seen so much change in the world and had equally as many stories, insight and wisdom.
maybe we should start a new thread on this topic and keep this one about what it was started for...
thanks for the kind words yawl.
ya, i don\'t know where the tram went when hexa(sorry can\'t remember their name right this sec) took the wheel but if it is some sort of bucketbashing ((ignore)) as you mentioned, or anything that has negative energy (((keep it away!!!))) surrounding it, that would be really super cool of you guys to transfer your notes on that topic off of this thread and onto another one. really cool. thanks for thinking of it.
Such sorrow to hear of both your loved ones passing, it\'s so hard to lose those closest to us, it makes us reflect on how precious life is. I will Definitely be saying "wiiiiiii" if I get to 97!! I hope you are both with your families and surrounded by love, you certainly are here... Sending you Love, Strength and Peace.
I\'m so sorry for you loss nuff and everyone else who has lost someone. Sail on!
This thread makes me kinda sad feeling.
I love you guys....
hey, thanks. i was just thinking how nice she\'d think you all are and it reminded me of something funny. she actually saw Buckethead when he played on Bill Laswell\'s PBS Soundstage Axiom World Music. haha! i remember thinking how cool it was that this 95 year old woman was digging that show. and she said about B "he\'s something else!"
good memory.

Thank you Nuff... :-*and my heart goes out to you as well. Much love and many thanks for everyone\'s comforting and encouraging words...
Mom was 71, passed on March 4th. I\'m beginning to unfold from the numbness...For Mom and I Love My Parents....have taken on a much deeper meaning...truly.
Mom\'s strength, and enthusiastic spirit...keeps pushing me forward. I grin and tears well up...riding on waves...soo many thoughts rush...all the good times...many many...a milli for sure. Mom was my best friend...my soothsayer...I\'ll miss her forever...now things are different...energy transforms...it never leaves us.
Mom radiated a sense of JOY all her life...her motto " I choose to be happy".
Mom was a bucketbot too...she got the magic...and really got a kick out of all the FUN and scaries in Bucketheadland too...hehe! While watching an Aggie Theater DVD Mom was digging it totally....(her ears tickled when Bucket would squeel on high notes...and then she\'d smile and say....Ooooo...there...he\'s coming down again!) SHe also commented that "He really IS something!" :)
Totally touching how Buckethead reaches past time, space and age barriers, all heart...A hero\'s strength is measured by their heart...
Mom is a hero to me in so many ways, and through all the years of managing COPD she always pushed forward and to the very end she radiated JOY...
I was blessed to have witnessed her parting...as gentle as a breeze...peaceful....a new dimension....without a doubt in my mind where incredible JOY waitz...Joy WAS written all over her face. Tears washed over me....
I ramble...my thoughts are scattered...so much to fondly remember...I have been wanting to comment and thank you all...to offer my heartfelt feelings back-at cha\'s too...again MUCH LOVE...and BIGGEST HUGE HUGZ!
Peace...and comfort comes... :-*
So sorry to hear about your mom ZQ. My sincerest condolences and positive karma. My thoughts are with you.
ZQ, my sincerest sympathies. I truly dread the thought of when my mother passes on. I am not sure how I will deal with it. The good thing is she is without a doubt the most similar person to me in the world and I am almost able to run a virtual mom in my brain. Anyway, I am truly sorry for your loss. I hope you find comfort in your memories and the parts of her that will always be with you.
BIG love to you ZQ
your words about your mom were beautiful to read
There is a lot of love in this thread.
I still catch glimpses of my loved ones who have passed, and I\'m sure you will too.
Please accept my sincere condolences to you both!
I enjoyed your loving memories of them.
I lost my dad in december.
It changes everything, doesn\'t it?
I still have trouble dealing with it. Some days it is hard to breathe
My dad didn\'t go softly and gently into the ether and blamed me for his discomfort.
So yeah, I got issues...
Much love and hugs to you!
xoxo,
chrissy
A truely sad day :\'( for a wonderful person!
we love ya ZQ!!! :-*
Adding my sympathy to the rest. I also lost a near & dear relative late last year, and agree completely on the healing effect of music. Sometimes from unlikely sources, too.
I have a memory floating around in my head, so I decided to share it here. Not about my Mom, but about my Great Grandfather. His name was Simon. I never met him. He was a violin player. Another family member put together a scrapbook with a bunch of old pictures in it and I was looking through it and his picture totally captured me. His eyes spoke to me and in them I saw that tortured soul of an artist. They told me a lot about myself. At that moment beautiful violin music started playing from the tv in the other room and I almost cried. If I was alone I might have, but everyone else would have been like, what\'s the matter with you. It was just one of those moments, ya know.
I know there is something much bigger than us out there looking out for us. Nothin\' but love.
ZQ, I\'m sorry for your loss and wish all the possitive energy towards you and your\'s. There will come a day in everyone\'s life, just hope we have the strength to get through it. I hope all is well. BIG HUGZ
shared memory:
when i first read Remember, Be Here Now - by Ram Dass i was down by the seaside, relaxing in my van. after reading the part where he experiences the presence of his mother, i felt very moved and i looked out at the ocean, then glanced to the dashboard clock before going back to reading, only to see it said 4:14 - which was my mother\'s birthday. it gave my a chill to say the least.
another is:
i was in San Francisco and picked up Electric Tears at the merchandise table the night before. i was headed home and remembered that i\'d forgotten to give my mom\'s ashes to her cousin when i was visiting. i was really distraught for a moment (oh no!) and i realized i was passing the exit for Colma, so i did the next best thing with the ashes, and swung off to revisit a certain angel in Cypress Lawn. it was a very misty, low hanging, drizzly kind of day and no one was there. when i neared the angel and rolled to a stop, it was in sync with song 5 of that cd ending. i didn\'t know that the title was "The Way to Heaven" until later, but the moment was still pretty perfect.
Beautiful memories...haunting and precious...thank you for sharing. I love the subtle signs in tune and surprised.
BIG HUGE HUGZ :)
