i co founded a punk/rock/ alternative metal band. I love buckethead and own the secret recipe and enter the chicken. My band cant agree on a name and i have looked on lists of buckethead songs for inspiration seeing he always gives his awesome songs really awsome catchy names.
do you guys think it would be lame to name a band after a buckethead song? (if anything id want to show my fandom for buckethead by naming the band, not trying to steal one of his ideas, i definitely owuldnt want to do something he wouldnt like)
would there be any copyright issues?
do you guys have any ideas/suggestions for band names inspired by him?
thanks
i suggested the slunks, and kaleidoscalp but both were turned down by other members.
off topic: which buckethead album should i get next are there any like reccomended albums aside from say , crime slunk scene (which i know quite well).?
thanks people
peace out y\'all
many have named their bands/songs after what isnpires them, even Buckethead, so why not?
what albums do you have?
funny, i was just thinking that Kleb & Maslo (Russian/Nadsat for bread & butter) would make a decent name for a cover band, hehe.
good luck with your band name... if you\'re lucky, it will choose you.
i have enter the chicken, but iv heard a lot of the songs from colma, and crime slunk scenes so i dont wanna buy them, even though theyre both great.
as to kleb&maslo i dunno im czech you see (although i live in england) and it means basically the same thing in czech as it does in russina, and it would feel a bit strange naming a band after bread and butter.
but when i think about it kleb or maybe klebb has a nice ring to it. ill think about it.
oh and i love the joke. :D
yep, that\'s me being inspired by Anthony Burgess and his disownable writings. would more Americans recognize the words as Russian or Nadsat?... i wonder...
wow, lucky you! you\'ve got a lot of great music yet to hear. i hope one day you\'ll pick up copies of the two you\'ve mentioned.
i\'ll suggest based purely on my own opinion that you pick up from here: http://travisdickersonmusic.com/store/buckethead_catalog.html Elephant Man\'s Alarm Clock, Bucketheadland 2, The Deli Creeps, Inbred Mountain and perhaps Pepper\'s Ghost to get started.
Buckethead has named many songs and albums from what has inspired him so why not name a band from what inspires you, sounds cool to me - Do your mates listen to Buckethead too? Maybe you can take part of a song or merge 2 song titles to form a band name: Jowls for Jordan? the Lurkers? Chicken Boy? The Lost Minds? Slunkatron? Slaughterhouse Sally? Bozomobile? Headcheese and Slaw? Gory Headstumps? Slunksayer?
There\'s 10 off the top of my head, makes me want to start a band. lol.
BTW - Can\'t go wrong with Pepper\'s Ghost or Elephant Mans Alarm Clock.
some of my bandmates slightly listen to buckethead. theyre definitely all aware of him (ssein i talk about him so much).
I\'ll definitely get those albums you guys said. Thanks for the name suggetions duckhead i definitely like jowls for jord the lost minds and slaughterhouse sally.
do you guys know where theres a list of buckethead songs to get inspired from?
there\'s a discography here, although not entirely up to date. if you click on the albums they\'ll show the track listings

if you google buckethead discography you might find something similar that\'s more current
I agree with Duck-although I would simply call it Lurker-that would be a great name, combine that with buying EMAC. Consider your problem solved.
I have always wanted to name one of my bands COMBAT SHADOW... it just envokes the creepy feeling of war without being too brutal... its from the recording Funnel Weaver.
Favorites of mine:
The Cuckoo Clocks of Hell (my fav because its so metal)The Elephant Man\'s Alarm Clock
Decoding the Tomb of Bansheebot
Pepper\'s Ghost
Crime Slunk Scene
Island of Lost Minds
Kaleidoscalp
Inbred Mountain
Cobra Strike II - Y, Y + B, X + Y
Electric Tears (i listen to this every night before bed)
Colma
Deli Creeps - Dawn of the Deli Creeps
Buckethead and Friends - Enter the Chicken
Monsters and Robots
Somewhere Over the Slaughterhouse
Praxis - Metatron
Thanatopsis
Dragons of Eden
Buckethead and Travis Dickerson - Chicken Noodles
Bermuda Triangle
El Stew - No Hesitation
Giant Robot
The only order is that I like the top recordings more than the bottom ones... I have many more that did not make the list, mainly because the list would be too long.
