Title: Albino Slug
Post by: Indra on September 24, 2008, 01:34:24 AM
Ohh, this is a good one.  If you liked all the other Bucket n\' Brewer releases, you will definitely go for this one.  They found some new direction and some new sounds, while maintaining what they had, at the same time, I think.

I\'m happy for you but it hurts.  Over in england we got to wait for everything.  No tours...... waiting for the cd\'s.  I hope it\'s not long before Travis has got em in the store.  Until that time i will only dream of how good they are whilst i listen to running after dear and D.O.E.

Yeah, I bought it last night at the show I\'ve listened to it through a few times now, and I\'ve decided that it is thoroughly and utterly enjoyable.  I am sorry for you folks that have to wait,  I just wanted to share some joy with my fellow Bucketbots here and to put out the good word on this one.

Didn\'t want to be negative.  I\'m glad you have shared your joy.
Which of the previous Buckethead/Brewer CD\'s do you think Albino Slug is most like? if any.

I would actually agree with this.  I do think its as good or better than EMAC, though, personally.  Its a bit more listenable, anyway.

Yeah, I\'m definitely diggin\' mine.....Redeem Team rocks, and translates so well live!  ;D

My kids love it too, what\'s so funny about it is they "play" slugs all the time with their fingers extended like little peace signs for eye stalks.....they think the cover art is hilarious....
I love the eyeball right where the CD goes....

They both have 2 slugs apiece, Maya has MiMi and Slugster and Evan has Sluggie and Meager...they have quite the adventures let me tell you, and quite a Fear of Salt!   :P

Come on peeps.  Thought someone would have recognised the likeness to "island of lost minds".  It\'s certainly not all like that but there\'s some bits which are really similar.

Interesting.  :o  I haven\'t heard that.  A lot of people don\'t seem to like IOLM, but I think it is fascinating.  It is perhaps the most abrasive album I have ever heard, but I like it anyway and find it incredibly interesting.  I am even more excited to here Albino Slugs now.

Thats Crazy!!!! IOLM totally rules.  You\'ll know exactly what i mean when you hear Albino Slug.  One track in particular could have come straight from IOLM

Peace out

so the show last night for the most part kicked ass! I managed to capture a pretty good vid of gorey head stump and some photos and bits a bites of other slabs..I grabbed frankenstein brothers and albino slug.. I\'m pretty angry at the venue though.. TLA .. because my friend got thrown out..after being thrown on stage against his will.. I mean he weighs like 120 lbs and 2 270+ lbs grown men through him up to crowd surf and eventually the flow of the crowd through him on stage.. and so the bouncers grabbed him harshly and through him out of the show.. I mean why is it everytime assholes have to ruin a show moshing and grabbing people up... I wish I was their with my friend because somehow we got separated.. I would have punched that dude dead in his face...

just my two cents.. I hope buckets reads this and if you were offended it was not on purpose..he was tossed on stage against his will..

thanx for listening

I know what it is like to not get to go to the shows and have an oppurtunity to buy tour only cds. I understand those that would pay alot of money to get a cd right now. The more people rave about it the more you want it and the less you can wait for it.

BeezleBob, you are very incisive - I like that. You always hit me with a little reality. Yeah, I know what you mean, living in Hawaii means no shows for me and waiting for everything. I guess I\'m just more patient and frugal. I work hard for my money and paying twice as much as needed to get it earlier seems like a waste of money to me. I do see a correlation between between trying to obtain overpriced instant material gratification and the economic downfall we are in. People should be smarter about spending thier money. I\'m seeing BH in Arizona next month and will get AS then if the merch table doesn\'t sell out otherwise I will wait for the release on TDRS.  Don\'t get me wrong, I would love to have a copy now but I can wait.

If you are willing to pay that much for it, you might as well download it and donate the extra $15 to Buckethead on here.  Then just buy the album when it comes out.  This way everyone that matters gets their money.

Wonder what Travis thinks?
