Ever since we offered the posters of the original Buckethead paintings I have been flooded by offers to buy the originals. Original Buckethead works have sold here before. We will offer these painting for sale as well, one at a time. The problem is, who do we sell them to. We have had many generous offers
but I feel the fairest way to sell them is through an auction. The auction set up here has caused more problems then it attempted to solve in the past and thats why it has been inactive for a while. I may revise some auctions here again soon to offer a bunch of one of a kind items we have laying around but it\'s not well suited to such a valuable offering as original works of art.
So, it looks like we will offer the first painting from the set on ebay in the next week or so. There are a few details to work out but i wanted to give the people hear a heads up that this would be happening and i\'ll give more details soon about exactly when the auction will start and other important facts soon for those that have written me and others that might be interested.
Edit 11/17:
Here are some more details. The first painting to be offered is the from the #1 print. It\'s 24 inches high by 12 inches wide. Painted with acrylic paint on canvas. The Auction will start on ebay this Tuesday and run for 7 days. There will be a reserve. I\'ll add more detail here as it becomes available. You can direct any question to the bottom of this thread or email me.

:D NEAT-O!! Wee hee!!
Thanks Travis!!!
BIG HUGZ! ;D
Excited and bummed at the same time, Ebays price just may be out of reach, but happy that they deserve everything ebay could offer ;D
Since those paintings are probably going to be way over my budget, is there anything else of Bucketheads that he\'s willing to sell as well?
EDIT: by the way i\'m still amazed that as Buckethead has soooo many songs/albums, while some of it, like on In Search of The is filler, the good songs are absolutely-freakin-amazing. Where I\'m going with this is, Travis, can you confirm my theory that Buckethead either does not sleep or writes music while he sleeps?
His creativity is just a constant flow, it comes naturally. With a single beat, he knows what comes next having never heard it before. New is built in, cannot and will not stop. thats all there is to it. its really very simple.
you play him one note or beat, he will build a song around it. ;D
edit; it\'s called creative genious

Well said. I feel pretty much the same. Happy that I got the reproductions ;D Man, I\'ll bet they go for more than I could get for my 62 Strat. I\'ll be watching those auctions. Crazy money for sure. Thanks for the heads up Travis.... very curious to see what else you guys will auction off.
Way cool! Cant wait to see how all this unfolds! :)
bummer I got into some major trouble on ebay a while back, I have banned myself from going there, its scary, its like cigarettes and alcohol fer some.
I almost participated in the auction when I had paypal, but again (above) foom whiz bang.

I think it\'s cool that Travis D. at least gave us a heads up on the auction that is about to go down. Mighty swell of the guy.
I predict that the first painting will go for at least $500.
It\'s times like these were i wish that i didn\'t have to pay rent and such. :\'(
Guanteed the paintings will probably sell for more than I can afford but it would sure be sweet to have one on my wall. Now, if one of BH\'s KFC Buckets went up for sale (signed with a little dvd footage of him wearing it), I would have to consider taking out a second mortgage on my home to get my hands on it. ::)
A signed KFC Bucket is worth more to you than a signed Buckethead painting?!
Wow. :-X

I am into music memoribila. Alot of musicians paint (John Lennon, Zappa, Jerry Garcia, Dylan to name a few). These guys didn\'t get famous on their painting ability, they got famous on thier music. I appreciate guitar picks, broken drumsticks, sweaty do-rags and anything else a well-known musician had during a show. (One guy I met after a show took one of Curt Cobain\'s shoes while crowd surfing, I think it is an awesome piece of memoribilia!). These items have what I call "Music Mana" in them and they are powerful items that helped create the music, atmosphere and image of a particular musician. BH\'s Buckets are exactly that. To me they are more valuable than drawings by Zappa, Lennon, Garcia, Dylan... or anyone else. John Lennons drawings are on greeting cards, Jerry\'s art is on ties, that\'s crap! Don\'t get me wrong I totally appreciate the artwork and would love to have any original by any number of musicians (Captain Beefheart did some great stuff). I know alot of people don\'t see it my way but the trinkets I get from shows have more "artistic value" because they are
of the artist &
of the music. Painting is a different type of expression.
Here\'s a hypothetical? Would you but a record that Salvador Dali or Picasso made after they became famous from thier paintings? They would be interesting but not as good as their art.
Lastly, I don\'t want to compete with a bunch of "suits" to own original music memoribilia. I\'ll never win, I have to collect the small stuff because that is what I can get. I was half joking about taking out a second mortgage to make the point that a KFC Bucket to me would be more valuable than a painting because I think it would be more unique and more suited to my collector taste.
Ah, like so many have voiced here, the originals will very quickly be out of my reach on eBay - but I wish BH all the best in getting everything he can for them. Number 2 would be my dream purchase... but since at present even the print is a bit beyond me, it will have to remain a dream. Such is life - Hooray for those who do get to purchase them.
ps - T - sorry to hear that your auction system isn\'t working out well for you - I thought it was rather nifty. Happy Turkey Day a few days early.
Awesome duck!
When you break it down like that, i certainly hope that you are able to get that signed Bucket, bro :)
Slunk on, soulbot.
The auction has started and will run for 7 days, ending next Tuesday.

SWEET! this should be interesting. Unfortunatly i have only $8 that im not allowed to spend anyways..... bother.....
Lost the auction before I even started.
I\'m getting a lot of mail about the reserve on the painting. My response is at this point if the reserve is a concern, this may not be the purchase for you. Let me see if i can answer a few emails before they are sent to me. As I mentioned before, I have gotten several offers to buy the painting already. Putting them up for auction is my way of trying to be fair to everyone who would wants a chance at them. One, so I don\'t end up conducting a private email auction and two so no one can say, "If I had only known".
The reserve is set around the amount that the current offers are at, it\'s that simple. Putting it on ebay and announcing ahead of time I was going to do that is the fairest way I can think of to handle the sale of valuable art work. The reserve may not be met, or it could go well past it, who knows. At least I can feel good about the fact that everybody at least had the opportunity, if not the means to participate.
Hi Travis, If I could help give the east coast a fighting chance, could you have the auction\'s end after 5:00 est time that would give alot of people time to get home from work and could help the price.
