Title: Have money need cd\'s
Post by: ubernewhacks on November 19, 2007, 02:47:00 PM
I am fairly new to Buckethead but I am in love with his music. I just recently bought all 3 of his newest CD\'s, Noodlehouse +  Slunks + Bansheebot. I absolutely love Bansheebot. People said it had slayer/maiden/malsteem-type feeling to the guitar Slunks was really spastic at the first listen, but the middle parts were great. It felt too random, but I will give it another try later. And Noodlehouse felt really funky, parts of it flowed well, really well, and I really like them, but at certain moments I just couldn\'t stand it. But for the most part I liked Noodlehouse and Bansheebot was insane.
If money is no option, where do I start buying (I like signed stuff :]) without spending over 20 dollars per cd unless it is signed. And would something like ISOT be worth it?

if you weren\'t the greatest fan of Cyborg Slunks then you\'ll struggle with ISOT..

if you liked Decoding.. then you should try Pepper\'s Ghost which is the most similar (you\'ll be able to hear that it\'s the predecessor of DtTB)

Thanks for the help.
I\'ll most likely check out Pepper\'s Ghost then, and the signed album they still have besides Slunks then. Any other thoughts?

If you went nuts over "Decoding...", then I\'d advise you to go after Pepper\'s Ghost, Crime Slunk Scene and Elephant Man\'s Alarm Clock first. They have a similar sound to "Decoding...", but still sound fairly different from one another.

After that, I would tell you to maybe go after some of the classics if you don\'t have them.. Monsters and Robots, Colma, Giant Robot, Inbred Mountain and Population Override spring to mind as the most essential. After those, you\'ll be set for a while definitely.

Then when you\'re ready to move on, just go after the rest of the solo releases like Kaleidoscalp, Bermuda Triangle, the Cuckoo Clocks of Hell, Funnel Weaver, Bucketheadland 1 & 2, Somewhere Over the Slaughterhouse (difficult to get your hands on, though..) and stuff like that.. before branching out and start getting the side projects like Transmutation by Praxis, the Thanatopsis albums, the Deli Creeps cd and the Cobra Strike albums. Oh! And Chicken Noodles.. that one is a must, even though it\'s very mellow.  8)

When you get to this stage, you\'ll be a fullfledged Bucketbot.  ;D

Aloha - goto http://www.buckethead-coop.com/downloads.html and download Giant Robot NTT for free. It\'s one of Bucketheads legendary albums. There is other great stuff you can download too.

Colma is my favprite CD and contains none of the strange noises that some CDs have.  It\'s fairly mellow and is a must for any collection along with PO and EMAC
