Post by: GiantRobot24 on October 23, 2007, 07:11:22 PM
I can afford to buy one OOP Buckethead cd (except NTT)

Which one should I get?

-Somewhere Over the Slaughter House
-Bermuda Triangle
-Day of the Robot
-Buckethead Land

any others?

I would go for Burmuda Triangle personally. That is one of the best CDs I have ever heard. ;)
Somewhere Over the Slaughter House is a close second!

That is a tough one.  I would definitely say that Day of the Robot comes in last.  I like it, but it is not as interesting as the others.  Bermuda Triangle is probably the most polished of them, but I love "Pin Bones and Poultry" off Somewhere Over the Slaughterhouse.  It also has some other really great wedges.  Bucketheadland has a lot of the movie sample type things and the story of Giant Robot vs Guillatine.  Oh, and "Computer Master" which is classic.  Anyway, I would probably go with Bermuda Triangle or Somewhere Over the Slaughterhouse, with the decision between the two coming down to the day of the week.

I don\'t think its a question of what one you should buy, but what is available?  Do you have access to all of these somewhere?  At least 2 of them aren\'t readily available to buy.

I\'d get them in this order, it\'s the order that I prefer them. But that\'s just me, of course, but still how I see it:

1. Bermuda Triangle
2. Bucketheadland
3. Somewhere Over the Slaughterhouse
4. Day of the Robot

So, I\'d say Bermuda Triangle as well actually. It\'s got a touch of "electronica" to it, but it\'s still an awesome album with some very good tracks on it.

I know what OOP means.  I just thought you had some place to buy them w/o paying an arm and a leg.  I\'d go with Bermuda Triangle as well.  I think it has the most actual music.  I just wish it wasn\'t so hip hopish.  If you liked Monsters and Robots go with this.

I thought Bermuda Triangle had too much techno stuff and Disc scratching.

Bucketheadland is good though. I really enjoyed it. It has sounds from movies and stuff, and the whole Giant Robot VS Guillatine is great.

I haven\'t heard SOtS and DotR though.

A lot of people don\'t like all the movie samples and stuff, but I do too.  Bucketheadland is great imo.

BHland is NOT OOP and it is readily available for about $40.  You can get it at the HMV in Japan (online)
http://www.hmv.co.jp/product/detail/35155

Looks like they have Psychographicdisk - Live at Slims too.

Many people over at TK have purchased from this site with no issues and they ship fast.

Downtown Music Gallery used to carry BHland all th time too - http://www.dtmgallery.com/Main/index.htm

I\'d say Live at Slims is the best then SOTS followed by Bermuda then BHland then Day of the Robot.

El Stew - The Rehearsal is also very hard to find and better than everything on this list.
