I went to a store and asked if they had Dreamatorium by DCK and they said that it will be re-issued on Tuesday the 7th(2 days ago). If so, where is it? I want my Dreamatorium!
If you type Buckethead in in the iStore(ugh), it comes up with the reissuing there too. So, where is it?

Hmm...I haven\'t heard anything about Dreamatorium being reissued. If you really want check out Amazon for some used copies. Or I think it\'s here in the download store for even cheaper if you just want the MP3\'s.
By the way, does anyone know if Dreamatorium was ever released as just a CD and not a CD-ROM? Seems as though every one I find is the CD-ROM.

yeah I got one with the rice paper/tracing paper insert off Amazon, years ago.
as far as prices,current availability and the likelihood of a reissue, I don\'t know.

Yeah! That one is cool. :) Mine is the CD-ROM with the blurry skull picture on the cover and the first track is the CD-ROM content so the music starts on track 2.
Well, I\'m glad I got the black cover one for $8.50 at my local independent record store, it had a little scratch on it but it was still well worth it, one of my favorite Buck discs! :D

I got the CD-ROM one too.
After looking at the "Data" part of the CD today, I realized that this is a 16-Bit MS-DOS program. LOL! Is this really what we used in 1995? ^^
Unfortunately this doesn't launch on a modern 64-Bit Windows system, but even on my 32-Bit Windows XP machine, the program aborted with some error.
Not very surprising though. To run this program on a computer from the current millennium, you need a fully-featured DOS emulator like "DOSBox".
But things get even funnier:
After having a closer look, it turns out that the "software" included on this CD is nothing but
Fractint, a
freeware fractal generator created for IBMPC's:

All they did is package Fractint and add some Batch scripts that will launch the Fractint program with a specific preset :o
Really, I could have created that in five minutes - in 1995 when I was twelve years old!
(I mean putting together the software package that is included on the disc -
not writing the Fractint program itself)
Anyway, everybody who ever wondered what the software included on this CD looks like, can just download the Fractint program from the official web-site!

Without going into a ton of detail...
Subharmonic/Strata was a project that Laswell set up with John Matarazzo (I will not get into his er...qualities as a person), who at one point purchased the entire Celluloid Records catalog (where Laswell was somewhat of an in-house producer in the '80s) and reissued and licensed it to death, often in shit quality pressings. If I recall correctly, way back when, Bill told me he had all the masters. Subharmonic was a cash and carry proposition essentially. Bill got money upfront, he gave them albums, but kept all recordings.
Any re-issues are dubious in nature and likely quality (I'll point to the clusterfuck of a reissue of Sacrifist that contained Lightnin' Rods "Hustlers Convention"). Matarazzo I believe passed away, but I would not doubt that associates would still try and cash in on these things (or even likely he 'sold' someone the catalog). Much like with Celluloid, I would doubt any of the musicians invloved receive any money. I think at one time or another very recently I've seen reissue dates for other Subharmonic/Strata releases. So, beware. As far as Strata goes you're better off getting the original copy. At least since no money goes to Buckethead anyway, no one else but the seller will benefit.
As far as I know, since we're focusing fairly heavily on MOD Technologies and folding all of Bill's doings into that, I don't think any of those releases are planned for re-issue through Bill. Not that I'm sure it couldn't be done if someone wanted to take control on their own and Bill and Buckethead were cool with it.
