Title: Heads up on the DCK limited edtion
Post by: Travis on July 20, 2007, 04:00:51 PM
O.K. my forth email here\'s the deal. The Black side of the CD goes down.
The silver side goes up. It\'s a bit counter to what your used to. If your CD players doesn\'t know what to do with the disc, flip it over.

Thanks again for the heads up! I would have been lost without it!

The CD is great...I love it! My first DCK album too!

Thank you Travis and Buckethead for making this great CD available!

what a great weekend ender!

I contemplated asked under special instructions and comments if I could get Mine signed but \' Does Death Cube K do that\'  :o I thought not, Buckethead does it for a select few.

I will be watching my spiderweb infested mailbox for this.

THANKS!

How would one go about getting their copy signed, Travis?

QuoteHow would one go about getting their copy signed, Travis?

i don\'t understand this, personally.

For one, if you get a limited ed CD, then it\'s actually signed by one of the most elusive artists to ever release an album. That\'s what you\'re paying for really, and if you think about it, $25\'s for Death Cube K to sign (and even number!) a cd is actually inexpensive. We\'re one of only 400 bots that will probably ever own a DCK autograph. To actually have it on one of his discs is priceless.

With that said, what good is it to take it to a show and have it signed by Buckethead? Buckethead didn\'t have anything to do with that record...he probably wouldn\'t recognize that record, it may seem vague and distant though..like some sort of dream ;)

Buckethead = Death Cube K.  ;D

That guy a few posts up is most likely just referring to the "Buckethead mythos", where Death Cube K is like the "evil twin" of Buckethead who haunts him in his nightmares or something like that. So, if you don\'t actually believe Buckethead WAS raised by chickens in a chicken coop, then there\'s no reason denying that Death Cube K and Buckethead are one and the same person.

I had that trouble with Disc #1 of my ISOT. Never could get it to play with the computer. I thought the disc was defective as the other 12 discs worked fine on my computer. I popped disc #1 into my car stereo and it worked fine. I then used another program to convert Disc #1 into MP3 on my hard drive.

good luck

Yes, DCK is buckethead. It does in fact say that he\'s an evil twin that haunts buckethead and whatnot, but he also came up with it so he was able release the previous DCK CD\'s without having a label conflict or something like that.

Yup, Buckethead was under contract at the time (was it to Sony?) and had to assume his alter-ego identity of Death Cube K in order to release Dreamatorium that he did with Laswell. And, ever since, that dark eerie ambient music has been associated with the Death Cube K moniker.

Awsome ... I got mine today! For those bots who like to know how long it does actually take to order at TDRS and have your CD delivered I can tell you about my experiences: e.g. I ordered last Thursday evening (german time) and got my DCK delivered Wednesday morning. Less than a week all the way from the US to Germany ... this what I call a fast great service. This is for sure - I will keep on ordering.

But how is the DCK Cd sound like... well today I spend a lot of time today in my car driving. And it was strange.... you have that strange sounds and rhythms  that DCK is all about. Having this soundtrack running inside the car you feel like being in another world while the outside world is passing by at your window.... so far away. Everything seems quite unreal.. and disturbing.. Cool stuff....

Same thing happened to me! I live in Sweden, and I usually get my cd\'s in about 7-9 days after ordering, which in itself is really fast for international shipping. The DCK cd arrived in 4 days, I don\'t know how that happened but boy was I glad about it!  ;D

I just love the DCK album as well, but it\'s quite different from the regular Buckethead stuff. I think it\'s all good though, it\'s great that he\'s got a different output to release a bit more experimental and ambient stuff like this. It\'s very eerie music though, scary at times but that\'s the way it should be with ole Cube. Music to get paranoid to for sure, and I still haven\'t listened to it the way I think is the ultimate: alone in a room with no light on whatsoever, complete utter dark, only accompanied by the twisted soundscapes of DCK. That\'s got to be a new kind of experience for sure.  8)
