Donkey Town and Brain Circus are the only two "real" albums on that list, the rest are compilations of tracks from the first three (and out of print) albums so naturally they don\'t feel as "complete" as the two legit albums.

Therefore, I would get Donkey Town and Brain Circus first. The sound quality is better and you don\'t get the mix of different sounds like you get on the compilations. It\'s hard to tell which is the better album of course, but personally I think Donkey Town is slighty better than the other. Two very good albums though, if you\'re into the "Cornbugs style".

I haven\'t heard "Cornbugs style" though.

I read a review on it at buckethead.tk and someone gave Brain Circus a 1/4. Is it really that bad?

The cornbug CD\'s are kinda weird. Just Bill Mosely talking over Buckethead playing riffs, sometimes w/ pinchface playing drums. No bass at all really so it\'s really empty sounding. The song "Sacramento" is just dreamgirl by the deli creeps with different words...

Honestly I\'d just recommend Cornbugs for hardcore fans only. It\'s kind of like the pieces CD but even less structured...I think I popped in the Cornbug CD\'s once when I got them, couldn\'t even make it through the whole thing, and I haven\'t played them since.

When I first heard the Cornbugs I pretty much agreed with mike.  However, after awhile they really grew on me.  Some of the guitar playing is really interesting and fun.  I wouldn\'t mind being able to remove the vocals, but even they grew on me after awhile.  Certain songs are definitely worth having, such as pokerface.  I can definitely understand not liking them, though.

try listening to the cornbugs songs on myspace.  bill m. has a cornbugs music page there.  if you don\'t like them, then there you go.  if you do, you might want to start with celebrity psychos

While I can understand that some people may not stand the Cornbugs, I just thought that the music is awesome, I loved it the first time I heard it and have ever since.

I agree that it can seem a bit weird at times, though. Sometimes it\'s just Buckethead playing guitar, along with Moseley\'s vocals and Pinchy\'s drums. Sometimes Bucket plays an acoustic guitar, and sometimes he plays just bass on some of the tracks. Never guitar and bass together. Still, while this can sound a bit "thin" at times, I really think it gives the \'Bugs that unique sound. It\'s like nothing I\'ve ever heard before, that\'s for sure, and I would definitely recommend giving them a shot.
