"If this works out we may be able to get some other things repressed this way. - Travis"
What else could you re-press? If you let us know we can assess interest on TK, Bucketboard, Binge Boards, ... etc.
I know a lot of people are looking for El Stew - The Rehearsal and Giant Robot NTT, but I suspect those are two you don\'t have the power to repress. (I hope I\'m wrong)
Excellent! This sounds like a great idea indeed, and I have already pre-ordered the CSS repressing by the way.
I hope more of you do the same, we\'ve got to get to those 100 orders, people! ;D
Oh, there needs to be 100 pre-sales to get it repressed? I won\'t wait then if you guys need a certain amount. I thought it was a done deal already.
Sorry, I didn\'t mean to start a new thread when one had already been started.
This is bare bones indy world, nothing is a done deal. There is some possibility that this repressing will be unaltered from the first one. I know this departs from what\'s been done in the past but the costs and time to redo the artwork will only hinder what is already a precarious situation for the survival of this CD. I hope that won\'t disappoint too many.
Ideas for other pressing might include a re-mastered official version of Blueprints and possibly a CD of odds and ends and I can look into some of the other things we don\'t have control over like Slaughter house and a few others. Nothing though is a done deal.

I would have no problem whatsoever whether or not the repressed cd will have brand new cover art, to be honest I don\'t really care about that. It would be awesome to have some unique art, but it\'s the music that I\'m more or less solely after. So, if keeping the old artwork will make the process of repressing CSS easier, then I am all for it.
I also like the sound of the other "possible" repressings, that would be very sweet indeed. I would love to see a "rarities" cd being released, I\'m guessing that\'s the "odds and ends" you were referring to? If so, that\'s something I would very much look forward to.
Well, here\'s hoping that some of this comes through. :)

BluePrints would be cool - great idea! Any release of new material would probably be welcomed by the rapid fans. Thanks for the update!
Im down for any repressings!
Same here, I\'m up for repressings of anything I don\'t already have. As long as you people keep repressing great stuff, I\'m sure to buy it.
AHHHHHHH THAT IS MENTAL IF U REPRESS BLUEPRINTS also remaster it. Its the first album i ever heard of bucket and is my all time fav ;D ;D ;D go on travis u knw u wanna do it lol
Travis: Just a quickie question here. What happens if the amount of pre-orders never get to 100, will the album not be re-pressed then? Say if it gets to.. 90? Does that still "qualify"? What about around only 50-60, is it possible to still print copies for the ones who have ordered or is a re-pressing out of the question then? I\'m just asking since I\'m not really sure how many people are going to pre-order it (does anyone, hehe?) and I just want to find out what would happen in a "bad case scenario" so to speak.
19 pre-orders in 2-3 days is still pretty much, but I\'m just anxious to get the album and nervous that it\'ll somehow not work out with the re-pressings and all, that\'s all. ;)
Now, now, let\'s not be a glass half empty kind of guy. That\'s why this is a bit of an experiment. Let\'s see what happens.
I put up a poll on TK to see how many people would buy Blueprints if it was remastered and repressed. The total at the end of 1 day is 33.

Well, I didn\'t intend to rain on anyone\'s parade here, I guess I\'m just overly nervous about the whole thing.
I\'m just excited, that\'s all! ;D

I was actually considering suggesting the idea of a poll to let people see their options and see which is the most popular.
That being said, I wouldn\'t buy Blue Prints if it was re-pressed.
I would definitely buy a Blueprints CD, especially if it were remastered. An odds and ends CD sounds great too! I am all for new material.
WHAT! I\'m a little bit confused here as to how many CD\'s have been ordered... Yesterday it said 21, and then I ordered one, and today it says 19? Is this accurate or is there any way of getting an accurate reading on this?
Still says 21 on my browser. It\'s possible you opened a cached page. Check the date with the number. I\'ll be updating the numbers this afternoon.
So if I order this, my card isn\'t charged until its made/shipped right?
QuoteSo if I order this, my card isn\'t charged until its made/shipped right?
Your card will be charged a day or so after you make the order, that\'s usually what happens for me anyways. It isn\'t charged immediately, but it\'s charged a little while later, and that goes for pre-orders such as this one as well. So, even though it won\'t be shipped until when it is, you still have to pay when you order it.

Travis do you know when Blueprints was made? Some people claim 1991 and others claim 1994. So far 39 people have said they preorder Blueprints over at TK.
Hmm, I think it was closer to 91 but I\'m not 100 percent sure. Blueprints will be a good candidate then.
awesome! ;D :)

Just throwing in a quick question here. You mentioned earlier in this post (as shown in bolds here) that you could possibly look into stuff like Slaughterhouse (I\'m guessing that\'s Somewhere over the Slaughterhouse, am I right?) to possibly get the rights to re-press those as well.
Well, my question is: if things work out with the CSS re-pressings here and you might be able to re-press other things, is it possible that albums such as Day of the Robot and Bermuda Triangle could be looked into as well? They are two Buckethead albums I\'ve been trying to get my hands on for a while now, and they are nearly impossible to locate on Ebay, and if they show up they end up costing a fortune. Same thing if you look on say Amazon, they are either unavailable or cost a small fortune.
Just wondering what the status are on those two, I don\'t know how rights for re-pressings work or anything, but it would be really cool if it could somehow be done.
QuoteNow, now, let\'s not be a glass half empty kind of guy. That\'s why this is a bit of an experiment. Let\'s see what happens.
Hi Travis,
wow. I though Buckethead\'s fanbase was way bigger. I am surprised there are only about 40 requests for Blueprints so far... Just curious, how many CCSs were printed initially? What about Inbred, Elephant Man and Chicken Noodels? I have not got those yet. Do you think they may run out soon?
I second that question. Im not sure what goes into aquiring rights and whatnot, but that would be sweet if we could get those albums repressed.

To the best of my knowledge thats out of Travis\'s hands. But I could be wrong. It has been brought up many times by many people, But Slaughter house\'s label is no more if I remember correctly so I think its pretty hard to get that repressed.

What happens to the rights of an album when label dies out? Somebody has to own them I assume. You would think a if a label dies out they would want to sell the rights to the album if possible to make some $$$. Does Catalyst still exist? They made Bermuda Triangle and El Stew - The Rehearsal and maybe other BH albums.

Well the number is up to 46 and growing each day. Its impressive when you factor in that only includes people who went to TK over the past few days and clicked on that thread. There is a ton BH fans that do not visit that website or any BH message board for that matter.
Most of these CD\'s are pressed in short runs. Some have been repressed and some not. This is a numbers game, what is the demand. The reason records go out of print and record companies go out of business is lack of demand. That may not be the artists fault but more of a failure to connect the supplier with the audience for it. Thats why I\'m trying to gauge demand by selling pre-orders for Slunk. Also we are trying to make it known that there is a place to get these CD\'s, Bucketheadstoystore.net, Buckethead.biz and tdrsmusic.com. I\'m going to make every effort to get as many things under one roof at normal CD prices as I can. There may be ways to get some of this stuff repressed. A lot of this will depend on the demand and getting those that don\'t know how, to find us. As far as the records I made, Thanatopsis and Chicken Noodles, Gorgone etc, I\'ll keep those in print.
Also remember it\'s easier to push the button on a poll then on a buy button. That\'s why I\'m taking money in advance of the sale. Let\'s see what\'s real. That money will go directly to the repressing. Also I\'ve been asked what if we get close but not quite to 100. That will depend on how fast we get close, if I see the trend positively I will be inclined to go ahead and repress.
This is a giant experiment, always was since I first started this site. If this goes well there are lot\'s of things that might happen, your feedback helps.

Right, someone has got to own the rights to that. But how or where would you go to find out who?
The preorder numbers are starting to shoot up, this is looking pretty good.
Indeed they are! 41 down, 59 to go. ;D
just curious. how many copies will be printed? not just 100, I assume...
I don\'t know actually. When we get to 100 pre-orders it says that they will be shipped, but I\'d be willing to bet that they\'d be willing to print up a couple extra if the orders surpass that.
I\'d pre-order just to ensure that you get a copy if you haven\'t already. I\'m not going to miss out this, I had mine pre-ordered a long time back. After all, you never know if they\'ll re-print it a second time. Can\'t be too careful.
I ordered "Crime Slunk" and "Peppers Ghost", and went on multiple other forums to tell people to do so as well. I hit up the Guitar Hero board and a few people there seemed very interested indeed.
As you can tell, I love my Buckethead, and I simply cannot wait for either album!!
Pepper\'s Ghost + the 13 cd In Search Of The = an unbelievably amazing month of March. I\'m looking forward to Pepper\'s Ghost like crazy, and I wish more and more people would pre-order Crime Slunk Scene so I can FINALLY get my hands on it.
It\'s a great thing you\'re doing, trying to spread the word on as many places as possible. Not only does this spread the joy of Buckethead to the world, but it also gives more money to Bucket (which, of course, means more money to produce more awesome music) and it speeds up the waiting process for Crime Slunk Scene as well. So, it\'s a winning situation for all. 8)
Oh, and welcome to the boards Solar! I\'m quite the newbie around these parts myself, but it\'s always nice to see new fans! Cheers mate! :D
We are almost to 60, not too much longer guys...
QuoteWe are almost to 60, not too much longer guys...
Oh yes! SWEET! That literally sent chills down my spine, I can\'t believe I\'ll get my hands on Crime Slunk Scene a few weeks from now. ;D
Come on now people, those of you who haven\'t got your pre-orders yet, this is the time. Only 41 more to go! We can do it! 8)

Personally, even if I didn\'t already have Crime Slunk Scene (and most of the other OOP albums), I wouldn\'t put my money down weeks in advance in hopes of it getting repressed.
If you want to do an experiment, and want it to go amazingly well, I think you should seriously think about remastering/repressing the Blueprints.
CSS is just another CD that Bucket popped out for the tour. The blueprints are something totally unique and definately the rarest buckethead gem of them all (except for NTT, but I think I\'d rather have the blueprints tape).
I would give my money in advance without a thought for a remasted, hard copy of the blueprints. I think every single person who would be willing to do that for CSS would be just as if not more so willing to put down the cash for Blueprints.
I could go on and on about why I think this would be the greatest and most profitable idea, but I don\'t wanna bug ya too much.
All I can say is that I predict if you were to take preorders for the blueprints, you\'d be pressing them the next day.
Thanks a ton anyway for all this hard work on your part to get all these rare releases out to us. Nobody else does this.
If someone was to ask for a CD to be repressed for any other artist, or on any other site, they\'d get shot down, or no response. You fill pretty much any request a person may have, sooner or later.
Ok I\'m rambling, the whole idea of this remastering has got me excited. Time to smoke a bowl and listen to insearchof.
Travis, you the man.
You know what? I think we are going to do just that. Wait for the smoke to clear a little.
This is a reply to frump. I have agree with you about Travis and the crew,I have never had more of a connection than with Bucketheads music, and this site makes it all worth it. The personal touch is unbelievable. and yes to blueprints.
YESSAH! 8)
While I don\'t necessarily agree with everything that Frump said... for instance I think the re-pressings of CSS are an amazing idea for people like me, who didn\'t get a shot to get it the first time, to be able to get this gem and be able to fill this gap in their BH collection... I do agree that remastering the Blueprints would be an amazing step to take in this point in time. Take a rarity and make it more widely available, and at the same time give insight into the early days of the almighty Buckethead.
Travis, if this were to happen as the next "logical" step, I would literally worship the ground you walk. I would be thoroughly thrilled and would pre-order as soon as possible.
QuoteYou know what? I think we are going to do just that. Wait for the smoke to clear a little.
Ah man, I thought it was a long shot.. I sure as hell didn\'t expect you to reply with that answer within an hour (unless you were already about to post that). Can\'t say how much I\'m looking forward to this.. you fucking RULE man.
I sure hope you get around to some Thanatopsis gigs so I can thank you for all that you do in person.. plus live topsis would blow my friggin mind.
Just got my copy today, time to go listen to it. ;D
Mine just arrived, really cool stuff, especially soothsayer.
sorry guys figured this post would be better suited here rather than all new thread..
real quick questions folks regardings the IOLM repessings and CSS repressings I know most of the artwork is the same for these..however I was wondering for instance with IOLM repressing the album cover changed...did the cd top change as well?? and also what about CSS...did the cd top change or is it still suposedly a picture of buckethead younger or am I mistaken on that.. I heard its actually p-sticks..
thanx
The album cover for CSS is still the same as the original I believe, it\'s the same picture in the store as it\'s always been. The CD cover is a picture of some guy with glasses, I don\'t know who it is... Never looked into that.
As for IOLM, I beleive the cover changed, but I wasn\'t a fan of Buckethead way back then so I never got the original album. I didn\'t even know it was repressed, but that would explain why the picture for IOLM is different in the store than the one in the download store. I\'m guessing the picture in the Download Store is the original, and the on in the regular store, the copy I have, is the repressed one. Hopefully someone who\'s been around longer can shed more light on the subject. Hope I helped though :)
hehe only one way to find out.. I guess I\'ll buy the repressing. I own the original.. just curious thats all..always been a nut for 2nd pressings.. reminds me of the days when I used to purchase comics..
Just register here on the forum and ordered ISOF a few days ago. A repressing of Blueprints sounds awesome ;D
Seen CSS up on ebay but I\'m short of cash after getting the full ISOF set so I gotta save my pennies first. But repressing of both are a fantastic idea.
Great job here Travis ;)
Crime Slunk Scene has already been re-pressed and is available in the store now.
