Title: communication through comics
Post by: spencer on February 13, 2005, 10:54:37 AM
I don\'t know if any of you guys with families of their own do this, but it\'s become sort of a tradition in mine to point out comics in the Sunday paper which portray some of our interactions.

The frontrunner of these examples are Zits.  That guy really gets teenagers, haha, it\'s amazing how many times my brother and i read zits and it was almost an exact dialogue we had with our parents.

Recently though, some Non Sequiter and others have been popping up too, and i think it\'s a fun thing to do.

Try it out sometime. :)

ah - that\'s a time honored tradition among families all over i am sure - and it\'s really a good way to bond!

Bloom County, Sally Forth, Pogo, Cathy, Snoopy - those were big ones in my family.  you probably know only two of those names, but they were all pretty good fodder.

cool!  i am very proud to be able to tell you that my late father had a role in getting bloom county the play it deserved.  in fact i have a signed original strip and letter from Berkeley Breathed to my dad.

that\'s really neat.  it took me a bit, but that eventually became the replacement for calvin and hobbes once i had read all of that, and my tastes were growing sophisticated.

It\'s good to see Breathed doing Opus in the paper now, he\'s still got the goods!
