Title: Jean Claude Clich\'e
Post by: D.O.D on January 13, 2005, 01:53:12 PM
In our small art group we invented a  fictitious  painter and we gave him the name of Jean Claude Clich\'e. We often discuss his work as if he really exists. (blame it on Michigan winters)  Jean\'s paintings are loaded with cliches...trite and repetitive. We have all seen his work. His favorite subjects ,are the"weeping clown", cactus and sunset, old barnes, and wallpaper....he loves the Van Gogh style of painting.  One does not want one\'s work compared to Jean Claudes. When I am told that my painting is just like a Cliche, that ain\'t no compliment . Jean Claude Cliche\'s work can be found in music as well as in literature. He is multi talented!     DOD

I thought his name was Jean Paul Cliche!  Must be his brother.   Both Jean Paul and Jean Claude take my writing classes too, along with their sister, Nicole:   "It was  dark and stormy night...."

that Jean Claude - he really sells well at the mall though!  ain\'t that a sign of true success as an art - to be big at the mall?
