I have been singing in a band (amateur) made up mostly of computer people and also know many other high tech professionals who are musicians. Each year about 50 bands are formed by employees of computer and technology companies in this area (Ottawa Canada) to compete in a battle of the bands called TechRocks. I\'m wondering whether this is a local thing or also true in Silicon Valley. Anyone?
;D sounds interesting yeah computer people rock very interesting, what is it like tekno ambient jazz er free style jam like R R R Roty Bat tahty Had Ta B Naught E B B B Being A Banka Cause Thers NO Bod E Swanka, Ok that my lammo rap about Ruddy the Banker HA HA HA HA.

No techno, no free style. They play classic rock and are judged on musicianship, vocals, stage show and professionalism, and musical selection. Not interesting, I guess, but fun.
The band I sing in plays classic rock and pop and we play at benefits. We don\'t compete in techrocks.
I\'m new here. Chris, are you a musician?

Chris, admit it, you live to "freak out" yeah?
Ginette - many people on the site are musicians, it\'s mostly a music site. Travis is fabulous and has many wonderful musical treats in his store. check out the MP3s and all...

Chris
hey, who told you about the guys in the white coats at my house? everyone here says i\'m just imagining them - now i KNOW they\'re here!!
i\'ve always been a freak... s\'pose i always will be. pretty much always been out too.
yep - right on que, there\'re those white coats! ;)
Thanks gkg
I like to know where people are from and what they do. I know there is music on this site but I see movie fans too. Wasn\'t sure what it was all about. I\'m a "lurker" when it comes to forums so you won\'t see me post a lot.
I haven\'t listened to all the mp3s but I heard the one from Please Tomorrow. I\'m waiting for it to arrive. From what I see, Travis has a recording studio and he seems like a nice person.

Travis is a wonderful person from my limited experience. If you wander around the site and look at older threads in the forum you will see that it\'s largely music - with an independent bent.
lots of good music to be had here, both people who work with Travis (like Buckethead) and people who hang in the forum (like Chris Moss).
as you might tell from the stuff on my site, i live in northern CA, although i\'d rather be in southern CA - i\'ve lived in far too many places to really be "from" anywhere.
welcome.
