I hope it\'s not more improv/messin\' around.... I mean, it was fun and awesome in best regards and spinal clock, but I don\'t know if I can take anymore....   :-[ I\'m getting dizzy thinking about it.... It does say noodle on one of the CDs, ehhh I\'m nervous... I think I\'ll wait for another LE or crazy buckethead land 2 type of album. I love his crazy shit!! So awesome!!

He does run the risk of flooding a market base.
But I think he will sell as many of these as he usually does.
It may take a bit longer.
Hell, I won\'t have money to drop on these until Wed.

Ordered both. Really shouldn\'t have but balls to it, this is insane, thank you!

Can\'t really check because I\'m in a rush, but will Kind Regards or Hamenoodle be signed like previous releases in any way?

Awesome!  I just ordered both.  I wonder what the Brain and Buckethead one will be like.

Edit:  Haha.  I just actually read the description (after I ordered them) and saw that the Brain and Buckethead one is Buckethead just on the bass.  Should be cool.

I\'m expecting some slap bass influence from Buckethead (purely because I haven\'t heard him do much else with one) so the drums will probably match.

Or not.

I don\'t think any samples will be added now. Why are you doubtful, just out of curiosity?

Well, ima be honest and say that spirits in the TK are a little uneasy about the quality of the releases of this year.

Thats one reason. The other one comes from me personally and i know i could get a lot of critisism for what ill say but here it goes. What i do when i buy, is that i download and then i buy it if i really like it. If i think it through, more hardcore fans buy without thinking it twice and sometimes they got a little discouraged when they buy something without knowing and their hopes turn against them when they hear the product.

I dont have a problem buying Buckethead albums if i like them or at least most of them ;D

Now, let the critisism begin  :-[
Title: Re: New stuff from Brain and Bucket!!!
Post by: Whale_On_This on October 02, 2010, 06:16:11 PM
All i can say to bots about feeling ripped off because they can\'t hear what an album is like before buying is this:

Thank god you didn\'t live in an age where you had no way of knowing what was on an album until you bought it.
I can\'t even count how many albums I\'ve been burnt on.
But I have to say that I have not felt burnt by Bucket, at all.

Also, there is no shame in holding your money until you hear what it is like. However, one thing to remember is that taste of music is subjective, so you may wait, read some reviews that are mostly positive; buy it, and fucking hate it.

First time since I\'ve been a fan of B that I\'ll wait to sift through some honest reviews, although that can be asking for a lot here and at TK.
Title: Re: New stuff from Brain and Bucket!!!

I think $10 or $15 for a CD is a fair price.  Even if it ends up being something that I don\'t listen to very often, I usually find something I like in it.  And if nothing else I like to help support Buckethead\'s ability to do what he wants.  Think of it this way:  people pay that much to go to a movie and see it once;  surely you\'d rather have a new Buckethead CD that you can listen to as much as you like.  I\'d also gladly pay at least twice that to hear Buckethead just mess around on an instrument for an hour.  With a CD we get to listen again any time we like.

Yes, Grasshopper, but if you have an original The Day of the Robot CD, you can turn the cover over for the 10-cent Buckethead comic book art, [No. 1, Feb. 1996].

What\'s the odds that the third Regards set is called "Warm Regards"? Haha.
Title: Re: New stuff from Brain and Bucket!!!
Post by: badgerbot on October 03, 2010, 09:42:45 AM
Warm Regards, maybe Nice Regards . . . if the first installment is 5 CDs and the second is 3 CDs and the third is 5 CDs, we get another 13-CD release.  I still spend days at a time getting lost in "In Search of The."
Title: Re: New stuff from Brain and Bucket!!!
Post by: In Search Of The on October 03, 2010, 10:31:24 AM
I obviously love that particular release, everytime I listen I discover something new. With the way Buckethead is with his number it could be fair to say we may see a 13 CD set in total. I honestly didn\'t expect to see a second installment so soon.
Title: Re: New stuff from Brain and Bucket!!!
Post by: badgerbot on October 03, 2010, 11:37:44 AM
If Regards is a 13-CD set, that would explain a few things, like "why is Best Regards still available in limited edition with no stated last number?" and "why is the second installment not a limited edition?"  ISOT came out all at once and each case had an ink-drawn Buckethead on it [my volume 10 also has a tree and a monster].  Anyone who wants to jump on the potential 13-CD #2 adventure can still do so and get their own hand-drawn first piece a/k/a the cover.  Nobody gets left out and none should complain that they missed out on a limited version.  My Best Regards number, which is Roman Numeral XXXIII, may just be the one that goes to the whole set that I will eventually get.

Very deep thinking and quite well planned if that\'s the case. I\'m just so anxious to hear Kind Regards, I for one loved how loose and intimate Best Regards felt. Spontaneous in parts but a very good listen, I loved the jam elements.

I have decent hopes for KR.
I think it will build off of what we got with BR.

as for BaH, I am thinking it will be in the same vein as Kevin\'s House Of Noodles, more or less.
I look forward to all four discs.

It seems to me that Spinal Clock was Buckethead\'s first release in a CD "jacket."  Apparently Kind Regards is in "jackets."  My Spinal Clock album in that jacket fits right into my Best Regards portfolio.  Therefore, the three Kind Regards CDs in their jackets would fit into two of the Best Regards type portfolios.  If Regards #3 is 5 CDs and packaged the same way as Best Regards, that would be enough room to store 13 CDs.

I ordered both Kind Regard and Hamenoodle. Can\'t wait for them. I noticed something about Best Regard that I\'m hoping is the same for Kind Regards though.

When I listen to it, my mind just begins to think better than it usually does. It\'s like brain food for the ears. It stimulates the mind by letting me think through the music. I really enjoy that, and I hope Kind Regards is similar in that sense.

I hope the gonervil parts are kinda like, Lurker at the Threshold. How amazing would that be? Im hoping that this is album is more....I dunno how to say it haha.
Lets just say, hope its more like Peppers Ghost, Elephant Man\'s or Assylum, with some Colma thrown in for good times  :P

I think everyone is hoping for more than just noodling and improv. I\'m gonna bet on bucket\'s next tour he only plays maybe one tune from best regards and maybe one tune from spinal clock...  Noodle noodle noodle  :-[. I miss records like peppers ghost, inbred mtn, colma, cuckoo clocks of hell, elephant mans..., crime slunk scene, ect,ect... Those were fucking AMAZING albums!!

Needle in a slunk stack, and forensic follies were a far cry from the quality work I am used to from buckethead, not even close....... Flame me if you will... I\'m just saying what\'s on my mind.

looks like you dont know whats noise and whats not.  ;D

im seriously sick of these fans who go and say..."Oh buckethead has been releasing shit after shit, i wish he could do (insert name of overestimated shred song here) more". I cant belive how spoiled we are and yet we dont apreciate what is in front of us. seriously, look at your music list and tell me 10 artists who release the same or more quantity of music than Buckethead. You may argue that quantity is not quality, but what youre not seing and you should realise that the guy is being creative, and you just want to cage him or stereotype into one thing.
Dont get me wrong i love CSS, EMAC, and so on. But i also apreciate the little jewels that come from these experiments like:

Best Regards: Blue #1, Greenn #2, Yellow #3, and Orange #2
Spinal Clock: Whale on This, Skeleton Dance, and Lafayete\'s Landing
Forensic Follies: Open Coffin Jamboree, Under Sea Scalp, Slunk Shrine, and Forensic Follies
Needle In a Slunk Stack: Carcass Cable, Needle In a Slunk Stack, Mego Frankenstein, and Alpha Sea
Shadows Between the Sky: omg, even with a narrow mind you cannot hate this album, is great from track 1 :P

Those are some examples, there are some songs i also like but i dont remember the titles. But i think i get my point across. If Buckethead would want to do a more mainstream album i think he would already have released some of the past tour songs which were really well accepted.

If you still dont get the point take a guitar, learn a song. Play it over and over. Then play it to an audience (in this case we will supose that the song is good), they will want you to play it over and over, and i think you will get bored of playing it after a while and then ur going to go and do something else.

Ok, im less angry after this rant ;D ;D ;D

PS, i dont thinks this fact matter but after i heard FF and NIASS i felt more urges to hear something this complex to make so i went to hear King Crimson. I really dont see much of a conection but when i hear FF and NIASS i get the same feeling that i get from VROOM from King Crimson 8) 8) 8). Also i would love to see buckethead play one of FF or NIASS on tour as imposible as that may seem

I\'m certain Buckethead would be able to practice his Forensic Follies compositions and play them live. I would love to see that.
I\'ve waited so long before ordering Forensic Follies (ordered with Spinal Clock) because of the comments I had read here. Now, I absolutely love it, and I can\'t wait for Needle in a Slunk Stack to arrive with Kind Regards and Brain as Hamenoodle.

Thanks for your post Bucketfel.

Wizard_beard, I suggest that you try to buy the Bastard Noise/Spastic Colon release with Buckethead. You won\'t be disappointed.

Spastic Colon.

Even when I read that I just "heh, wow, imagine having a spastic colon".

I just find it hard to believe people are slating these releases before even hearing anything from them. We don\'t know what\'s going to be on Kind Regards, it could be a complete different direction. Hamenoodle I have an idea with, but I\'m not boxing myself in. Neither is Buckethead. May he continue to release his ideas.

@bucketfel

We are not trying to "cage him in"... We just want more than random improv sessions! We want the composed buckethead awesomeness we are used to! He could have composed some awesome stuff with his banjitar and on best regards, but he didn\'t, he noodled his ass off and slapped titles on it. If you\'re a real muscian you can tell the difference. Chill dude, I love Big-B, and reserve the right to criticize him. God knows I\'ve spent enough money on his stuff and will continue to do so  :P

Arthur: Old woman!

Dennis: Man!

Arthur: Man, sorry... What knight lives in that castle over there?

Dennis: I\'m 37!

Arthur: What?

Dennis: I\'m 37, I\'m not old!

Arthur: Well I can\'t just call you "Man"...

Dennis: You could say "Dennis"...

Arthur: I didn\'t know you were called Dennis.

Dennis: Well you didn\'t bother to find out, did you?

Arthur: I did say sorry about the old woman, but from behind you looked...

Dennis: (interrupting) What I object to is your automatically treatin\' me like an inferior!

Arthur: Well I AM king...

Dennis: Oh, King, eh? Oh, very nice... And how\'d you get that, eh? By exploiting the workers! By hanging on to outdated imperialist dogma which perpetuates the economic and social differences in our society! If there\'s ever gonna be any progress in our society...

Woman: Denny, there\'s some lovely filth down here!
[Noticing Arthur] Oh! How d\'you do?

Arthur: How do you do, good lady. I am Arthur, King of the Britons. Whose castle is that?

Woman: King of the who?

Arthur: The Britons.

Woman: Who are the Britons?

Arthur: Well we all are... We are all Britons... And I am your king.

Woman: I didn\'t know we had a king... I thought we were an autonomous collective.

Dennis: You\'re foolin\' yourself. We\'re livin\' in a dictatorship! A self-perpetuating autocracy in which the working classes...

Woman: (interrupting) Oh there you go, bringing class into it again...

Dennis: That\'s what it\'s all about! If only people would...

Arthur: Please, please, good people, I am in haste. Who lives in that castle?

Woman: No one lives there.

Arthur: Then who is your lord?

Woman: We don\'t have a lord.

Arthur: What?

Dennis: I told you. We\'re an anarcho-syndicalist commune. We take it in turns to sort of act as a sort of executive officer for the week.

Arthur: Yes.

Dennis: But all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at a special bi-weekly meeting...

Arthur: Yes I see.

Dennis: ...by a simple majority in the case of purely internal affairs...

Arthur: Be quiet!

Dennis: But by a two-thirds majority in the case of more major...

Arthur: Be quiet! I order you to be quiet!

Woman: Order, eh? Who does he think he is?

Arthur: I am your king!

Woman: Well I didn\'t vote for you!

Arthur: You don\'t vote for kings.

Woman: Well how\'d you become king then?

Winds change vector, vapors rise
And take a newly sculpted guise
Inspired to cause by soft caress
For purposes that none can guess
All wills autonomous and free
Conspiring to some recipe
To fan again the winds of change

100% agree.
I\'ve always been part of the school of thought that you can\'t judge and album until you actually hear it.
If you listen, don\'t love it and say so, that is totally different.
But that being said, a lot of people are like this now.
If I had a penny for every time I read a crappy statement about an album based on samples or one song, I could pay off my house.

I\'m probably more excited for these two than I was for Best Regards and Spinal Clock.

I mean, we get bass binges with Brain AND a second installment of this superb collaboration? Just think about what Big B can do on a bass. Just look at these videos:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QA-1EeVLvg
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agvuueA25gc

Imagine a full album of slabs like these and drumming like this:

We are definitely spoiled.  He has released a ton of albums this year and I still half expect a new release every time I come to TDRS.  Even if you don\'t like his improv-type stuff and just stick with the rest, he still puts out way more than anyone would expect from most musicians.

I will go with quality over quantity any day...even with Buckethead. I haven\'t heard the new ones so i ain\'t got nothing to say about them...

Everyone keeps harping on the fact that he gives us SO MUCH...well, i\'d rather 1 album every 5 years like Tool if its gonna blow me away EVERY time.

But hey, everyone buys anything he does, so I can\'t say as I would do it differently if I were in his shoes...

Also, we don\'t know he was in the hospital...we just know he had some pain. We Buckethead fans extrapolate an awful lot.

QuoteThe guy was in the hospital, with pain and stuff. And still hes able to release 11 albums, its more than last year. That shows comitment doesnt matter how u look at it.

Perhaps he\'ll relese an album of himself farting and you\'ll praise that one too like it\'s a motzart masterpiece or like he\'s doing us a big favor........ Only reason why I\'m here is because buckethead is a master of something not many people can comprehend nor fathom.. He\'s a true genius! However he deserves negative feedback about his recent albums. They are crap, standing next to any of his other work he has done... And I think kind regards is a continuation of this noodling crap we have been buying. I bet you anything it\'s gonna be improv....

Lol, ive never considered Buckethead to be a genius or something like that, i think the term is awfully used this days. Every guy seems to be a visionary, and a genius, or extraordinary. I just belive that his songs (not all, maybe half of all of them) are great and have an impact on me. they make me happy, or energetic, or at least gets me through the day.

Ill admit that hes awesome in guitar but there is nothing that i have seen from him that would make me consider him a genious or something like that.

Again, it takes a lot of creativity to take already released songs, and make them completly different songs, and its not like those guys who remix the song and sounds like it, this is completly different monster and i would continue to support FF and NIASS until i die. ;D ;D ;D ;D

You are way too opinionated. I don\'t like BR very much, but I don\'t think the new albums are crap because of that.

And about quantity vs. quality: I don\'t know why, but NO ONE seems to see the comparison between this year and \'07. What if he only released one album this year? That means he probably wouldn\'t earn enough money to make more albums for a long time. This is his job! He has to make a living.

A little math: $15 per disc * 1,000 discs = $15,000. Just a rough estimate. Is that very much for a year? He wouldn\'t even make that much profit if he sold that amount.

Seriously, do you see a trend? 2007: No touring, but lots of albums and first year of LE\'s. 2010: No touring, but lots of albums and 2 LE\'s. ::)

I\'d take quality over quantity (4 albums a year as opposed to 11+) and am not a huge fan of noodling, but I get it.

So because you don\'t like it anyone that does like it must be some blind Buckethead fanboy?  Since when did you get voted the arbiter of all good music?  People have different tastes.  It is too bad that you don\'t like the recent releases, but that doesn\'t give you the right to be a pompous ass about them and the people that do like them, especially when you are guessing about a release that hasn\'t even happened yet.  You really sound like a spoiled child who got a vanilla ice cream cone when he wanted a chocolate one.  Too bad for you but that doesn\'t justify acting like a brat.

What happened here? Why are we all at each others throats like this? We like different material. That is why we post, because Buckethead crafts different music. Be it experimental rock or beautiful acoustic, we all have a preference. One of the most important things aside from having your own taste is respecting that of others. It may be a bit of a stretch but what would you feel if you knew Buckethead was reading all this? I\'m aware that some don\'t like improvisational material and that\'s absolutely fine, of course it\'s fine. It isn\'t for everyone. I\'ve not been here long but I put money on it that you haven\'t been like this since the forum started. Can we not all just agree to disagree? Whatever happened to respect? I feel some people here are being negative just for the sake of it.

I don\'t want to be the person that brings everything round again and have a happy atmosphere but... well, I do. I do want to be that person. I want to be able to come here and read up on opinions, releases and the like, but I just can\'t continue to come here while you\'re at each other\'s throats. It\'s not how fans of an artist should be. We\'re bucketbots and that\'s how it should be. Respect taste, suggest albums, but don\'t slander material you haven\'t heard.

I have no problem with someone saying they did not like this or that release, but to call it crap because of that irritates the heck out of me.  Part of Buckethead\'s appeal to me has always been his willingness to experiment and then let us hear it.  If others don\'t like that then just wait for reviews and they won\'t have to spend any money on it.  Those of us who do want to buy these releases don\'t deserve to be disparaged or have our tastes insulted.  Above all, Buckethead doesn\'t deserve to be ripped by some toddler with an internet account who has probably never created anything his his life.

His last 3 cds are crap. I\'m not a toddler and i have created many things thats why i know when someone like Buckethead who is one of the greatest guitar players to ever walk the planet has to make sound effects on cdrs
and sell them to support himself is pretty lame. For the record this is my opinion and i could care less what you think, if you like random noises on cdrs have at it.

It\'s not like we had 1 or 2 random LE cds ..its been 2 fricken years of this random noise stuff!! so what im saying is BUCKETHEAD is way to talented for this.

@slunkatron and bucketfel

Come over here and gimme a kiss big boys! All three of us are biased to a certain degree... I am peacefully protesting the improv recordings. As a dedicated fan, I feel like I was taken advantage of. Best regards format was...what it was. And kind regards title is a indication of some continuity. So I have every fucking right to assume it\'s gonna be somewhat like best regards.

Btw, I\'m not a spoiled brat. I\'m a hard working & intelligent business man who makes over a 100k a year and deserves every penny of it. Sorry if success is not apart of your agenda.... Don\'t be an ass.

I own a painting business and exclusively paint apartments ONLY, no residential houses. I have a partner that works with me and we get 3-4 apartments done a day. I charge anywhere from $250.00 to $400.00 per unit, depends on what property we are at.. We average $255,000.00 a year in sales, sometimes more. We are both 27 years old and we are very busy year-round.

Based on that, I think you are a spoiled toddler. In 2009 we got SotP and aRDitR. In 2010, we got SbtS. 2010 is not even over and we already have 3 "non-random noise" CD\'s in these 2 years. Most artists would release 1, MAYBE 2 stale CD\'s in that amount of time.

How can anyone claim to have been taken advantage of?  Does Buckethead force people to buy his release (if so, how do I get signed up for this?)?  The banjo CD had even had samples for every freaking track, so there shouldn\'t have been any real surprises on that one.  Wait for reviews if you are not sure you want to spend the money on the release.  But, I like to hear it.  I am willing to own a Buckethead improvisation set for $15, just like I am willing to pay twice that to go to his shows (I am actually willing to pay a lot more, but that is usually the asking price).  I don\'t consider the CDs to be crap, and I think that even if someone doesn\'t like them, calling them crap on the board where they are sold is insulting and rude.  And as someone else pointed out, even with the less arranged releases he has released plenty of studio albums.  Save your money for the next one.  No one has to buy any of Buckethead\'s releases.

i was forced by Buckethead to buy Spinal Clock cuz it was signed. It just forced me into it. At least is a great album.

Its true, no one force u to buy (unless its signed
8)) and its up to you to buy even. With the easy acces to free downloads we all can use, i still think that having a piece of music in a physical form its a great way to support the ideas embed in it. Thats why i download and then buy, there is pieces of music that gained my respect and so, ill buy them. I wish ppl would relax more about his releases, hes entitled to release what he wants, and you are entitled to not buying it if u dont want to.

This has turned into a sad thread.
Nobody is forced to buy CDs. If you don\'t like them, then that\'s fine because you are allowed an opinion, but don\'t shout about how much you hate it and claim everyone else is wrong.

If you feel ripped off, then don\'t buy KR until reviews come out. Spinal Clock had samples so if you say you didn\'t know what to expect then it\'s your own fault for not researching.

And Bucketdog, I don\'t think you meant to but your last few posts made you look like you were bragging.

I got all the binge tapes! I\'ll hook you and anyone else up that needs them for FREE!! A very kind user named \'Ants\' hooked me up and I\'ll pay it forward. One problem though... I have them on burned DVDs and don\'t know how to transfer them to my computer and then make more copys. If someone could send me detailed instructions (windows XP) I\'ll make copys asap and send them to fellow bots in-need! They are awesome!

Just received Hamenoodle now, for some reason I ordered them separately. I\'m a dunce. I don\'t care though, currently listening to Door Handle and I\'m loving it. In contrast to what the last track is telling me, I\'m definitely feeling it.

Well, since I don\'t remember posting that I received the albums on Tuesday, I did.  I think I\'ve listened to them each about 5 times ;D  Hopefully they don\'t get burnt out too quick and they stand the test of time like Giant Robot still has.  I also think that Buckethead was a little bit more influenced by Paul Gilbert and Iron Maiden on Kind Regards.  I also didn\'t think there would be as much bass playing on KR as there but I love it.  Hamenoodle was pretty great too, hopefully I\'ll be able to work out some shards from all of these albums.

THANKS BUCKETHEAD, BRAIN AND MELISSA ;D ;D ;D ;D

Still not received Kind Regards.

I\'ve lost track of how many weeks it\'s been.

I really hate the UK\'s postal service sometimes. I\'ve not even received a little card saying customs have it.

When did you order it?  It really might be one of those rare cases where it was lost in the mail.  Maybe you should PM Travis about it?

Yes, email me your invoice number.  I think it should have cleared customs by now.
It would not be the record for delays however.

Email sent, thanks to both of you.

I\'ve emailed Travis recently, but he advised me to wait a week longer which is fair enough, we all know how rubbish the UK can be when it comes to getting things on time!
