It was released Oct 20 2010. So it says. I never heard of it before. So I would say YES it is new.
Kinda looks like a Michael Jackson figure on the cover.

I\'m still in the Mac Stone Age for computers and try not to become proficient. Looks like the same label as Pepper\'s Ghost, released yesterday, don\'t want to know what an eye-toon does, there\'s got to be a CD for sale. Where?
Just checked the Wiki for Pepper\'s Ghost, no mention of this label on there, maybe you were thinking of another? That\'d certainly solve that.
All I can say about this album so far is it sounds gorgeous. Very structured. Nothing like anything he\'s released recently, so fans of his more polished albums like Albino Slug and such will like it.

Back to In Search of The - I bounced around the InterNet and found the reference to Hatboxghost Music on Dan Monti\'s site. The name also goes with other recent releases, so I\'m puzzled too. The others were issued through TDRS, so I\'m thinking we need more order boxes on the site pretty soon.

I\'ve never actually used iTunes to buy music before so the whole thing was new to me. I do prefer physical CDs but I don\'t really mind downloading it. At least I get it quicker! I do like having something to open and... smell.
This, so far, is really, really good.

Well, this is chock full of great riffs. The outro to Chase The Darkness Out isn\'t blistering, per se, but it has a groove
Just finished listening, overall this album is a very solid, soothing, calm release, very much a cross between ARDITR and Shadows Between The Sky, this album is by far his best work of 2010 i\'m sure everyone here would agree. Great start to it and an ending that just makes you extremely happy with your purchase.

definitely, i would have to say i did enjoy ARDITR better than Shadows, but in my mind this truly tops both of them, as its a true combination of the two and the outcome is mind-blowing!

Nearly every song on this album blows The Homing Beacon out of the water.
Just put it on my iPod. You all are getting me excited as I also love ARDITR. I do like SBTS a lot but not as much as ARDITR. I combo sounds amazing. Buckethead sure keeps us on our toes.

BTW someone posted a track from the album on youtube, i think it was peacefromtheunknown or something like that. I just found out about this song (I follow a youtuber named marlboro123456 who does the absolute BH covers). I found that one song that has been posted online, "Star Chasing."

Hatbox Ghost, a Disneyland attraction removed from the Haunted Mansion in the summer of 1969, a few months after the Bucket was born. "Hatboxghost" for our Alphabot who wears a box of chicken ghosts for a hat. How could we have missed it?

Wanted those for a while, hard to find. I\'ll pay $100 for Profanation, no problem . . . I love Praxis. I\'m not sending eye-toons a cent or participating in computer-available-only music at all.

This is a must buy. Not only is this his best from this year, it may be his best in several years.
The best I could describe it is a mix of Colma/Population Override. It has the spacey, new-agey feel of Colma with the live drum feel of PO. Production is awesome, not like the Regards stuff.
The Siphoning Sequence "solo" is one of those you never want to end. It had me grinning and laughing.

And I did some checking, and they do give to charity, such as Red products for AIDS, and they are pretty good when it comes to help people to a better education. I do agree that they could be better at giving to chairty, but if you look over to microsoft I don\'t think they are any better.

And why shoudln\'t I buy it from iTunes? I have suported tdrs products many times, and have to pay 10 or more dollars to get it here. The shipping is great and fast, so I doesn\'t mind, but as a student it\'s nice to skip those extra dollars. sometimes, btw this was my first time buying something from iTunes.

I will buy the disc in addition to my itunes purchase. Funny: this past weekend I bought two albums from itunes that I only had on vinyl. I had to re-register as it had been such a long time so I was prepared when Cap\'t EO\'s Voyage was released. It was very serendipitous.
I would buy any Buckethead release no matter where it was released from. I love ordering from tdrs tho\' as I love to support Travis and everyone here.
I think Buckethead is going to get a lot of double orders. I like to have something in my hand, read the liner notes, look at the art and put on my book shelf.

same here dude, i hate paying for something i will not have in my hands but sometimes u just got to do it like the extended version of Forgotten Trail. Since i didnt knew how the system worked in Chile (i never saw any itunes card arround there) i had to ask my step sister in Canada to download it and send it to me XD. But i think its also a smart move cuz now that tere are previews and people like it, ppl like me will want to buy it. And just in time.

I did in fact buy this through iTunes.. something I rarely do. But I\'m going to buy the physical copy as well = more money for Buckethead, which is always a good thing. Well I\'m not much of an iTunes guy at all, but after being given the heads-up yesterday morning by a friend I went out and bought a $15 gift card, easy peasey. I am SO GLAD that I did! This might end up being one of my favorite Buckethead CD\'s of all time.. and that IS saying a lot! I listened to it all day yesterday and by the end of the day I was loving it more than I ever would have imagined. When Buckethead makes beautiful music it is THE most beautiful music in the World.

Just want to say one more thing. The album is amazing. I don\'t know if I should cry, or just have something hot to drink and think about life for an hour. I think I will do both. Brings me back to why I started to lissen to Buckethead in the first place. The songs are slow, easy on the ears and just pure perfect.
There are still two albums I need to get, and I might just trow this one in as well. DAMN, I need to work a lot this Christmas :S
id like to say that iv listened to the album several times now, straight run through and shuffle. I think the album (is obviously about Captain eo\'s voyage) but, if you listen. I think that as the album progresses, it opens up more in melody and dynamic. The start is quite, sombre and uncertain (could be the uncertanty in the voyage) but as it opens up, things get a little brighter, which could convey the uncertanty has turned into realisation or hope within the voyage and album... I dunno, something like that haha...

Great last couple of posts. This is a very emotion filled album. At first I liked it but thought that ARDITR was better. I have now listened to it over a dozen times (probably well over) and it is simply amazing. As much as I love ARDITR I think this is a better album overall. The difference between the best and "worst" song on it is negligible. They are all amazing and they all fit together very well. This album feels as much of a journey as IM does to me, just a lot more relaxed and contemplative journey. Usually by now I feel like I know an album pretty well but this still feels very fresh and surprising in ways. There is a lot going on for something so simple seeming at first. Very beautiful, sad, haunting, and hopeful all at once.

I\'m assuming IM stands for Inbred Mountain cause that is one of Buckethead\'s greatest works and is one of my favorite wedges. Experimental Rock at it\'s best that album.

Yeah. That album is kind if the pinnacle of his releases to me, II can\'t definitively say it is my favorite, but it is the one that probably most impresses me. I think it is just brilliant. Obviously, Captain EO\'s Voyage is a completely different thing, but as I said it feels like a voyage to me. I rarely listen to any of IM on its own, and I doubt I will with this either. They both deserve to be heard straight through.

Yeah I agree with you man. For me, after listening to the samples Captain EO\'s Voyage is like ARDITR and Electric Tears blended together with some slabs from a slunk slaughter slaughterhouse. It just has this very slight metal crunch and feel to it. Can\'t wait for it to get on TDRS so I can buy the physical thing.
I agree with Y\'all. I feel that this album is constantly evolving to my ears. I think I know it and then i hear something new. To be honest, I love ARDITR and SBTS because to me they\'re like a brother and sister album, much like peppers ghost and Assylum. But the thing I like about this album is the space feel and the constant unknowing atmosphere.
Does anyone think that Big B will release anything else before the year is out? :D

I agree. I would gladly pay the extra $5 to get an actual jewel case with all the artwork that comes with it. A paper sleeve is just not as good or practical in your cd collection either. I don\'t really care if I get a shipped cd that has a slightly cracked or broken jewel case either, those are cheap and easy to replace anyway. I usually keep a little personal stash of them, just in case.
So please bring the jewel cases back, Travis! Puhleeze? ::)

i Doubt ill see that picture while studying at the university, there are remote chances, but just like that i was studying Akhenaten (Amenhotep IV) for my essay and i found out in the introduction of the book about the religion he created and i saw about Mutatis Mutandis ;D

Just read every post on this thread as i don\'t always get a chance to check the site for a few days. I keep checking for some more drawings to go on sale, but i\'m SO excited by the sound of this album from all the great comments on here. Was devastated when i read it was an itunes only release, but then i got to page 6 ;D
Cannot wait for the CD to be available. Nothing against downloads etc.. but i\'ve only done it once or twice, and i\'m like many others here, and appreciate a physical copy w/ cover/liner notes etc.
I personally LOVE "ARDITR" and there are some of you here who feel the same, and have described it as even better!!! That my friends...is something to be excited about :o

It is a lot different than ARDITR. No rhythm guitar and it does not have that mellow yet really heavy sound. CEV is mellow but in a very different way; it is very spacey sounding. Definitely a great album, though. It just isn\'t much like ARDITR other than also being mellow.

i will not since i cant afford to be yelled more this month. Ill be yelled tomorrow when i buy Forensic Follies and that other boring album Captain Eo\'s Voyage. hahaha. I think CEV is going to be great but what will happen tomorrow is a long yelling on why the hell would i want to waste 40 bucks albums that u can download on the internet. ;D ;D ;D
Ill mentally prepare for that by watching Saw I XD

nah i got no problems with the internet in HK but i gotta see it in 3D i mean the experience is almost as good as listening to a Buckethead-shred binge fest wedge.

I went and saw this last night, and even though it was panned by critics, I quite liked it. The digital 3D is pretty amazing, and the traps this time were pretty sick.
after the third, every saw movie was paned by the critics, but if i did what critics said about movies or music i wouldnt be here XD.
I wont be watching saw in 3D cuz i get dizzy and wanna throw up so ill be watching it the usual way
