OK, here we go again.
Q. Can I get number 13 or the lowest possible number?
A. No, it\'s first come first serve as it always has been for LE\'s.
Q. Can Buckethead sign this for me?
A. Some day when I\'m old and done I\'ll publish some of the best comments on the order forms over the years, some real gems there.
Q. Are the LE\'s and the regular editions the same except for the numbers and signature.
A. Yes. This is not truly a limited edition. The first 500 of the pressing will be numbered and signed.
Q. What is a CD jacket.
A. It a simple sleeve. The CD is a pressed CD, not a CDr.
Please if you have more questions, post them here. I\'ll get to them as soon as I can and it will save me from having to give the same answers over and over by email.
Thanks Travis 8)
so, sleeve as in like, those promo sleeves that companys give to radio djs and such? ;D
Much appreciated, Travis. ;D
I\'ve explained to people multiple times what a CD jacket is, and it\'s nice to have this thread.
Also, it\'s nice to know that the LE\'s are the same cases as the regulars, just signed.
I have a question: The album artwork shows an instrument that is a cross between a banjo, guitar, and mandolin. So will all 3 instruments be featured? Just Banjo? If so, is it just Guitar Banjo or standard banjo? Thanks.

If I\'m incorrect, sorry for being a jerk. ;D
Travis, so can you confirm that buckethead does have spine related injuries??
When I think of "CD jacket," I think of a simple, paper sleeve. Sometimes they have a cellophane-like window on them. Sometimes they don\'t.
QuoteTravis, so can you confirm that buckethead does have spine related injuries??
I can\'t speak for Travis or Bucket, but most signs point to yes. When Buckethead refers to the villain "Slip Disc" -- he is referencing a slipped or herniated disc in the spine. So, on his website he says "Slip Disc snuck into the park and caused some mayhem." We can only assume that he messed up his back somehow. He talks of "animatronic parts" being \'replaced,\' so perhaps he had surgery for the problem, I don\'t know. Physical therapy for certain. Add onto the fact that his newest album is called "Spinal Clock", I think it is safe to assume that yes, Buckethead probably had a herniated disc. How bad it was we\'ll probably never know, but I hear it can either be excruciatingly painful or simply a huge nuisance.
Well, we have modern medicine to thank for Buckethead\'s speedy recovery, although I bet being part-robot helped quite a bit too. ;-)
again with the "slipped disc" thing
do you guys seriously not understand who slipdisk is or something? jeez >:(
Hey Travis,
When you say hand signed and numbered this time, does it mean a drawing and number like Best Regards, or is it an actual signature this time?
Btw ordered, freakin excited.
QuoteSome day when I\'m old and done I\'ll publish some of the best comments on the order forms over the years, some real gems there.
If you need a publisher for that - contact me. Could be a nice little book. ;D
Can I just ask, if we\'ve placed a pre-order, has the money been paid already? Just curious how it works, do you charge us now or wait until the CD is released?
I\'ve already been charged for mine.

it is a drawing this will prob be exactly like what he did for buckethead blueprints
Thanks for the confirmation Alex.
And Best Regards, a drawing? You sure about that?

yep pretty sure it would be like blueprints and cyborg slunks thats what i think ill show ya a pic of my spinal clock when i get it
I\'m getting it myself, so I won\'t need a picture really.

NO NO NO! Don\'t start rumors. Travis said that it isn\'t a true LE because it\'s the same as the regular, just signed and numbered. It isn\'t confirmed if the signatures are pictures or names.
"Q. Are the LE\'s and the regular editions the same except for the numbers and signature.
A. Yes. This is not truly a limited edition. The first 500 of the pressing will be numbered and signed."
Is it so hard to read the first post?
I think what Best_Regards is saying is that Buckethead usually signs his CDs with a picture of him. Best_Regards is assuming this will also be the signature of choice on Spinal Clock.
It could be writing, though, who knows? We\'ll have to wait and see.
I\'m still getting emails asking about all this. I can\'t tell you how many asking about the banjo on the cover. I thought I answered with the photoshop comment but I guess not. OK, sit down, here\'s a shocker...it\'s not an all original banjo......The headstocks not original to the neck, the necks not original to the body and the clock hands don\'t keep time so well.

lol, do the time in the banjo represent anything??, and what about a release date, can an acutall release date be confirmed??
Quotewhat about a release date, can an acutall release date be confirmed??
"Release on or around September 15th."

^whoa! you just blew my mind. ;D You mean it\'s NOT the actual instrument he plays on the album.
c\'mon peeps- I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed but I can clearly see that it is ART. Oscar Wilde said "Nothing that is worth knowing can be taught". Art should not need to be explained – either you get it or you don't.

i know but as ive said before my b-day is a day earlier, and i wanted to know if that was the deffinitive release date.

looks to me like they point to 2 and 11. that equals 13, a seemingly significant number in bucketheadology. but that\'s just my interpretation, could have another meaning or none at all?

That\'s obvious! 6 strings and 8 tuning pegs?! But what I\'m wondering is if Buckethead plays standard banjo and/or mandolin on this?
Oh. I thought it was a real banjo made with a human spine.
QuoteOh. I thought it was a real banjo made with a human spine.
It\'s Buck\'s old spine. They gave him a new animatronic one that is much more efficient.
Might be a really dumb question from an over-eager fan but have the CDs been shipped so they arrive on the release date (15th or thereabouts), or will they be shipped on the 15th? Just so I know when to expect it.
ISOT, I don\'t like your avatar picture, so I\'ve Adblocked it.
:D
Oh that\'s not nice of me at all, I\'ll change it right away to something a bit more user-friendly.
I wasn\'t suggesting you had to change it, it\'s just I have this thing where I don\'t like knowing anything about Buckethead other than what he tells us, which includes what his face looks like.
I know that was off Secret Recipe (or Young Buckethead?) but whatever.
Thanks for changing it, anyway. ;D
Getting back to the banjo...
On the clock part, each of the clock hands (hour and minute) would have its own resonant frequency. I\'m going to guess that Buckethead will be using these resonant frequencies to get a bit more twang out of that banjo. I can\'t wait to hear this album.
^I don\'t think the clock hands are really on the banjo.
I think they were photoshopped in. Or at least they wouldn\'t have been there while the banjo was in use.

Travis confirmed in this thread that that instrument is NOT played on this. Seriously! 6 guitar strings + 8 mandolin tuning pegs + banjo body + spine neck + clock hands = REALLY doesn\'t exist.
The only thing I\'m sure of is that Bucket plays a Banjo Guitar on this, which is a guitar with a banjo body and tone.

The other thing I noticed is how the strings are routed through the spine on the banjo, then they come out at the bottom. I think this would have the effect of shifting the pitch of the instrument waaaay up. Going to be an interesting piece of work here from Buckethead, I think.
Well, we will all know soon.
;D

I think the clock hands create a wormhole to the past, allowing Buckethead to harness the power of slaughtered chickens and unleash it through the resonator. Either that, or they absorb energy, then send it across the earth to play a ginormous theremin. OR they make Buckethead rich by attracting people to the album artwork. Shiny!
Here\'s a new theory: There\'s a convertor mechanism in the spine that takes the 6 guitar strings and makes 8 mandolin strings from them. That way, those 6 strings can be tuned with a higher frequency range and keep precision.
Captain Obvious says:
"I think the artwork is cool because the strings of the instrument are like spinal cords."
Random surfer dude says:
"Like, I like, think that, uhhh, it\'s cool and all because the instrument\'s, um, like strings are all spinal cordy and stuff."
Random hill folk person says:
"Now, y\'all know that there album art\'s a-fine lookin\' cuz o\' them thar strings lookin\' like they be comin\' from the spine of the instrument."
Random jive turkey says:
"Gobble gobble!"
