Title: Thanatopsis
Post by: gb714us on April 27, 2010, 02:40:25 PM
Does anyone sense another thanatopsis album coming this year?

I was seeing the trends in the album releases

Thanatopsis: 2001
Axiology: 2003
Anatomize:2006

Thanatopsis came a year after 2000, Axiology one came 2 years after Thanatopsis, Anatomize came 3 years after Axiology. So it would make sense if a new album comes out this year seeing as it is 4 years that we\'ve seen a Thanatopsis album has been released.

Does anyone agree??

I\'d love for it to happen but I doubt it.

i know

especially judging by the fact that travis just realeased his solo album
=/

he said that most of this stuff was used with pop. override and thanatopsis. so i doubt he has new material =/ i still believe in it though.

Don\'t let him see this thread or else he\'ll make sure it won\'t happen this year. O__O

Wait...darn, too late.

Nothing could make me happier this year than a new Thanatopsis record, and we have a new baby on the way.

I haven\'t gotten any of the Thanatopsis albums yet, but I plan to get all three. I\'ve downloaded all the Thanatopsis freebie songs, and they\'ll have to sustain me until I eventually order the CDs. :) It would definitely be cool to see a fourth.

I forgot to mention that I also plan to buy Iconography and Population Override when I buy the Thanatopsis CDs. I may or may not add Inbred Mountain to that order as well. I\'m on the fence about Inbred at the moment.

None of this will happen for awhile, though, seeing as I just bought 4 Buckethead albums the other day, and I just ordered Colma and Electric Tears yesterday.

I\'d definitely recommend getting Inbred Mountain.  It might be my favorite Buckethead album.  It is not the most easily accessible but it grows on you like crazy.  However, it is not at all like Thanatopsis or Population Override (also favorites), so be aware of that.

I just finished listening to all of Anatomize. It\'s really enjoyable. It may be my favorite of the three, but I\'ll need to listened to all three multiple times before I can make that call.

I agree. When I first listened to IM, I thought it was excellent. As I kept listening to it over and over, I might have overdosed on it because I started to think it was just okay. I took a break from it, and I just listened to it again tonight, and I really do like it a lot. It\'s a bit too quirky to just put on as easy listening music. :P You\'ve got to be in an Inbred Mountain mood. ;)
