Title: tdrs store mailing rates
Post by: Travis on February 20, 2010, 02:16:30 PM
I just want to post an explanation since I\'m sure there will be questions about it.
Since this store started I have tried to keep the shipping costs for the store the same. Even though we have gone through several postal rate changes, I have kept the rate the same. However as of the first of this year new postal rates went into effect and worse the way the PO now defines a package has changed and it affects the package we use to ship CD\'s. As a result I have to change the rate for shipping on singe CDs for domestic mail. 1 CD domestic will now be $3.50 a 50 cent increase. I have kept the change as low as I can. All other rates will remain the same.....for now.

With the economy in the sad shape it is now, I have found every institution of commerce coming after me. The city, county and state have all come after me trying to raise there dwindling revenues. My business taxes, sales taxes, state board taxes, merchant fees and on and on have gone up.  I know this not only affects me but you too.  I know as the economy shrinks, taxes need to go up, people have less to spend on things like I sell and we spiral down.

So, I guess what I\'m trying to say is, I feel badly for having to raise any prices here at all. I don\'t do it lightly and, I appreciate all of you who spend difficult to come by money on what we do here.

Thank you Travis, for the heads-up.  Magical music ...just a start...outstanding customer service, updates, your personal touch is what makes TDRS  beyond special...
ALL that  YOU do and go beyond for us... is priceless.
THANK YOU!!!
50 cent should be an easy do-difference....for all.

BIGGEST HUGE HUGZ!  :-*

Yes, that\'s no problem ;)

Some of the albums you are selling here, are on ebay too and sometimes cheaper.
But anyways, if you sell them, I buy them there here. Everything that I can buy here deserves to be bought here. You deserve it (and the arists, of course).
So is 50 cent really a problem? Absolutely not! :)

Thanks for the info/notification and explanation/justification Travis, much appreciated. I totally understand that you have to accomodate for your increased taxes somewhere and, in fairness, it seems you\'ve been as kind as you can possibly be in that!! As already said, the size of this shipping cost increase and understanding why it\'s had to be done, coupled with your store\'s attributes of terrific music/releases and brilliant and personal customer service, really going above and beyond what\'s necessary to help out and/or satisfy your customers, the standard of music and sericvice, both, you cultivate and maintain, this certainly will not not put me off shopping at TDRS at all.

No need to apologize to me.  This place is great and your customer service is second to none.  Anything I can do to keep it afloat is fine by me.

Travis,
You do an amazing job. Don\'t think twice about it! Shipping and Handling isn\'t cheap and the kind of service you provide is worth that and more.

As long as you keep selling CDs that I love I\'ll come here first. Anything Buckethead-related and this is my first choice. ;)

Good luck with the future, and keep up the good work. I\'m sure you know it\'s really appreciated. ;D

I think the decent thing to do there is just to wait an extra week or so. Chances are it will get to you eventually. So, wait a while longer before asking for it to be sent out again.

I do know that, in my experience the CDs ive ordered from TDR take from 2 weeks to 2 months to get to my hands. I hope the CD do arrive soon =P

well now no one can argue with travis mailing rates, if my CD (Shadows Between the Sky) came to my hands with no scratch on the case (just the little teeth that hold the CD were broken, all of them) and survived the earthquake of Chile like that, im guessing that other problems might just be a little irrelevant, thanks Travis for the CD, now your mailing is Earthquake proof XD.

The rate seems to take a day longer. On february 6th, I ordered Shadows and Iconography. That was a saturday and they didn\'t get here until thursday, 4 shipping days later. I made an order on monday and it\'s not here. Normally, it would\'ve come today, 3 days after ordering. I\'m freaking impacient and disappointed. I read this thread before but thought my last order could\'ve been delayed from snow. Why is it a price increase if it\'s a slower rate? I thought it would be the same.
