Title: New Bucketbot! Buckethead repressings?
Post by: Jamie on January 15, 2010, 01:15:22 AM
Hi everyone,
i\'ve just become a Buckethead fan in the last few days and i\'m sensing he may become my favorite musician of all time. I obviously knew who he was because of him briefly being in GnR but i\'d never listened to his solo stuff until now and boy have i been missing out. In the last couple of days i\'ve ordered:
Albino Slug,
Decoding the Tomb of Bansheebot,
Pepper\'s Ghost,
The Elephant Man\'s Alarm Clock,
Crime Slunk Scene (all from TDRS music of course)
Colma and
Electric Tears

are there any other albums that are like any of the above that i have missed? i\'m not really into his really obscure weird stuff though.

Also Travis- any idea when A Real Diamond in the Rough, Slaughterhouse on the Prairie and Population Override will be repressed and available again as these all sound fantastic.

I haven\'t been this exited about discovering an artist in years especially since Buckethead has so much awesome music to explore. Discovering Big B is like being a kid in a candy store.

if your really into his weird/obscure stuff, order Cuckoo Clocks of Hell, Needle in a slunk Stack, or Forensic Follies

I think he said he was NOT into his weird, obscure stuff, but I am not sure what that means.  It could mean Death Cube K or it could mean Island of Lost Minds.  We need more info to help out.

i mean i prefer his more song structured material like Pepper\'s Ghost and Decoding the Tomb of Bansheebot, i don\'t really like the stuff like Cyborg Slunks or Needle in a Slunk Stack.

yes it is! Aunt Suzie must have been a very special lady to have so many amazing songs written for her.

You have a pretty good start if that is what you like then.  I would just advise to not give up on the other stuff.  The first time I heard Inbred Mountain I though it had no structure at all.  Now it might be my favorite album.  Sometimes the stuff that is at first harder to listen to seems to have more staying power.

yes that is often true. most of my favorite albums i wasn\'t sure about at first and then they grew on me over time. i just wanted to ease my way into the world of buckethead and once i love the more straightforward albums i\'ll delve into his more experimental stuff. i actually really like inbred mountain as well as stuff like kaleidoskalp and cuckoo clocks of hell from what i\'ve heard but those albums are easier for me to get into than albums like needle in a slunk stack etc  as i\'m used to listening to crazy progressive metal bands.

also i\'m having a problem- since i discovered big B and i patiently wait for the above albums in the mail i can\'t listen to anything else as it sounds lame in comparison haha. it\'s really frustrating.

Check out Somewhere over the Slaughterhouse although it\'s difficult to find. Also, if you are terminally bored while waiting for your CDs to arrive, take a listen to the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack. I think you will like it.

I finally got all my cds in the mail  ;D now my life is complete! i\'m really digging decoding the tomb of bansheebot, pepper\'s ghost and the elephant man\'s alarm clock. i\'ve also ordered kaleidoscalp, cuckoo clocks of hell, island of lost minds and inbred mountain so i\'ve got enough bucket to listen to for about a year straight.

oh yeah and i found population override in a store in my hometown which was a surprise cos it\'s almost impossible to find any bucket cds in Australia and of course it\'s amazing.

You deffo got the right album\'s to start with. The ones that you just ordered are less straight forward than the one\'s you got at the moment, so buckle up and enjoy the ride dude  ;D
