Travis Dickerson Recording Studios Forum

:) Ok guys and gals, tis the season and what a holly-jolly one it is!  ;D Isn't this an awesome website, one of my favs. I really enjoy posting here, meeting people, buying stuff, being in a small part of the buckethead community and now, privledged to be present at this historical point in time at the release of Travis\'s solo album. It all leaves me with overjoying feelings of satisfaction. But all seriousness aside  :P ..... To show my appreciation I have decided to have a contest and giveaway 13 grand prizes to the members of this forum, the top prize being any new $15 cd from TDRS, (I'd recommend Iconography). The remaining 12 prizes are listed in the photo below. So I need at least 13 contestants, to become one you will need to choose a number between 1-150 post it in this thread. The 13 closest entries will goto the much anticipated Round 2.

But...!!!... in Duckheads contest there are no losers, everyone who enters and doesn't make it to the much anticipated Round 2 will receive a nice complimentary gift. This is no knock off or computer made flim-flam. This is an authentic mortuary FUNERAL sticker, the same as our superhero once wore. If you are not one of the lucky 13, you will still receive a funeral sticker.

Well, here goes nothin'....  ::) Hope you all play, old members and new and from all around this little rock we call home, even if you never posted before – c'mon, LET'S HAVE SOME FUN!!!

Just a couple more notes  :-X,
•      you must enter before the cut-off time at Sunrise Hawaiian time Monday Dec 14th 2009 (right after my first cup of Hawaii's finest).
•      once round 2 has started no new entries will be allowed.
•      anyone who double guesses will be disqualified, ONE guess per person.
•      winners of prizes must PM(private message) me their shipping address prior to Midnight Dec 24th 2009, or their prize will be forfeited.
•      "overjoying" IS a word

And the list of grand prizes: (not in any significant order)
1.      Crime Slunk Scene Poster
2.      Hatchin' Grow Duck
3.      Carl Sagan, the Dragons Of Eden book
4.      $15 itunes card
5.      2 "Mystery" HotWheels cars
6.      The Utopian comic book, with cover drawn by the super cool and talented Las Vegas artist MTZ (also included is one of Mark's very cool business cards)

Only one more person left (Duffatron) the suspense is killing me! ;D

Thanks for putting on such a cool contest Duckhead, this way I can finally get A Real Diamond in the Rough if I win, it makes me sad that the only album from Buckethead that any stores carry around here is Enter the Chicken.....

I really need to start giving some plasma to get some quick $$$ for some buckethead CDs.

Looks Like Duffatron didn't make it, you got until I finish my cup of coffee (about 10-15 minutes) – then the winners will be announced  :D.

1-      Duck Dodgers in the 21st century – that's good stuff! Gotta love Daffy
2-      RHPS is my favorite movie of all time – Magenta is great in the intro to time warp, that's why I pick her
3-      I don't wear shoes that much and own both but old school vans low tops is what I wear most
4-      Space Mountain is awesome but c'mon – the Matterhorn is where it's at!
5-      Been a Raiders fan all my life – man do we suck the last decade (it's because the team is cursed as long as Al Davis is alive)
6-      Never got into Silver Surfer much, too trendy – Daredevil on the other hand is my favorite – I got at least 300 books
7-      Skull skates – those crazy Canadians
8-      I love all the MJ albums but Off The Wall is a little more disco and I love to get my groove on
9-      All great movies but the Thing is one of my all time favs
10-      If you haven't heard Yma Sumac – goto youtube and try to find Chuncho or Taki Rari – Yma is awesome, I love her voice.
11-      Those are all cool cats but Conan could take them all out (imo)
12-      Mothra – what an odd monster, gotta love her
13-      I am a big fan of Nick Lowe – he actually wrote the song that Elvis Costello made famous – Nick and Elvis spoke to me as a kid and were both big influences on my musical tastes today.

CONGRATS YAKUZA!!!!

without making this too difficult – here is how to choose your prize, yakuza you go first – just copy and paste this list of awards and put your user name next to it – once the person who placed #1 posts, then the person who placed #2 posts, then the person who placed #3 posts and so on until #13 gets what prize is left. Hopefully that isn't too confusing. Also try to put your name in bold red so it is easier to read

Since I am 99% sure that yakuza wants the TDRS cd I will fill in his name and next up to bat is dogsmell, once dogsmell picks, then it\'s bloodbucket00\'s turn and so on. I'll be checking in to make sure the prize picking goes smooth – thanks all for playing.

First, congrats to all the winners (as we are ALL winners here) and a big thanks to Duckhead.  The fact that I made it through round two is amazing to me (I tried to think like a Duck but mine were a lot of guesses; I would have been happy with a Funeral bumpersticker).  If I am understanding this correctly after Yazuka picks his prize then it goes down the list: dogsmell picks, then bloodbucket00 etc. and so forth.....so, c\'mon guys!  I\'m eyeing the Hello Kitty stuff!  If I am wrong in thinking of how this works please let me know.  Thanks again Duckhead.
And to everyone I will be having a giveaway soon (after the dust of this one clears).

Was waitin on Dogsmell to pisck his prize and then ended up goin out to town on night out...

He seems to have not yet replied/picked his yet so guess I\'ll/we\'ll have to wait somemore!

Dogsmell - we\'re waiting  ;) - I assume he will take the itunes card. We\'ll give him a little more time, I don\'t want to pull a Duffatron on him.

btw Duff, hope you passed your final - I have a special runner up speciality gift I can include with your prize as a consolation.

Trev Dog -  I understand wanting the itunes card but Dogsmell and Bloodbucket get first dibs. I also understand being safe, but don\'t build your walls too high - the world isn\'t as bad as it is made out to be. If you want to pass on a gift that is fine, we can find it a good home. Who knows, it is unlikely but the 2 winners above you may pass on the card. Thanks for the kudos on the game, It was fun to have you here! ;D

...just wait Chris, we\'ll get to you real soon - you don\'t get the Hello Kitty set

I sent Dog a PM - hope to see him soon.

...and a couple winners asked if they can get a funeral sticker so all prizes will also include one.

Here is the current list, slaw and bburnett are tentative but I don\'t think those will be claimed before your pick.

QuoteDogsmell - we\'re waiting  ;) - I assume he will take the itunes card.

Thanks Egg, hope your family are also having a happy and healthy holiday - you didn\'t think the contest was too narcissistic did you? I had a fun doing it - thought it up a while back. A few months ago I woke up totally grumpy, total stick up the rear kinda thing. I head to the local coffee shop, put on my mask, no expression and only grunts as communication. It isn\'t more than 60 seconds when the guy in front of me in line says something along the lines "What do you want, I\'ll buy your coffee". It just blew my mask right off. I say "no dude, you don\'t have to do that", and he replied "I don\'t have to do anything, I want to buy your coffee" and laughed. Wow! - I never met this guy, don\'t know who he is - it was just us 2 in the shop, I doubt he was trying to impress anyone. What a nice thing to do and exactly what I needed. I was in a great mood after that - all day! And it was just a jesture of a $2 cup of joe that did it. I wanted to pass that on, I think all that participated had fun and will enjoy thier prizes.
Now there\'s nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile... :) :D ;D

"Practice Random Acts of Kindness" - it\'s not just a bumper sticker.

And electrictears, did the funeral stickers get bent? - and be careful with that yoyo, if you smack yourself in the head trying some of those tricks, it\'s all on you. I\'ve given myself a black eye with a yoyo once. (don\'t try it Ella  ;))
