Title: Halloween this year...
Post by: Phydeaux_3 on November 01, 2009, 07:09:15 PM
So, again this year, I drove my bus with the bucket on all night, 8+ hours. Wayyy more people had a clue this year. To give you a rough idea, 2 years ago not ONE single person uttered the word Buckethead knowingly, they just thought I was some kind of fast-food junky or deranged Colonel Sanders or some shit. Last year ONE kid knew. The next day I brought him a copy of Tomb Of Bansheebot (t\'was the "new one" at the time) for knowing... he "won". This year I\'d say maybe 5-10% of the passengers knew that I was THE Buckethead. Not a single "fan" in the bunch of them. Sad really. One dude with a G\'n\'R t-shirt on, I say: "Hey a G\'n\'R fan! YOU know who I am, right?" Dude answers "yep, guitars on Chinese Democracy". DING DING! We have a winner!

Hopefully next year there will be a LOT more recognition. Mostly I get the old "what are YOU supposed to be?" reaction.

Best costume I saw all night? Mario Brothers. These two guys did it up right. Mario & Luigi in all their splendor. Musta been about a gazillion Catwoman out, all these little fuzzy ears everywhere. Saw one Lara Croft that was done really well. I don\'t even have to tell you how hot that is to a gamerboy like myself. She had all the belts and straps. Snootchie bootchies!!!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I saw a rasta Jesus. Classic.

smooches,

...maybe next year, you need to bring some toys and pass them out to people who know the Bucketed One.

...if the say, "bucket-who?", give em a slice of moldy headcheese.

And just a comment about Rasta Jesus. I have long brown hair, I used to sport a goatee and am about 6\'2" and was wearing a tye-dye Alice in Wonderland shirt when my girlfriend (now wife) introduced me to her cousins about 15 years ago at the family xmas party. Her Cousins are full on super conservative and gave me a questionable look and her cousin\'s oldest daughter who was about 5 at the time just stopped and stared at me for what seemed like 5 minutes, she looked a little frightened and then finally said, "Mom, is that Jesus?" and she was serious. Everybody started laughing and we all had a great time. Apparently Jesus was the only male she had ever seen besides me with long hair.   ;D

Haha great stories. I usually go as a pull-toy, naked on rollerblades. When I get tired of rollerblading I remove them and convert to a gas pump. "Twenty dollars on pump 7 please".

My Halloween this year was not like any Halloween in my past ever.

My little girl (22 months) cut the top of her right index finger almost completely off.  It was just hanging on by a little piece.  It was absolutely terrible.  We had real blood and gore this Halloween.

It took a long time to find the right surgeon, but the Dr. who did it was a great guy and was happy with his work.  Her finger is doing well.  So far, so good.  Please send her warm wishes.

Other than that, I do believe we had a rasta ninja on our trick or treat night.

 :oOMG ella! OUCH!
The whole fam is pushing warm tropical positive vibes to lil ella and her poor finger :-*. How did such a terrible thing happen? I hope you\'re doing ok too and for a quick and smooth recovery.

And Egg - thanks for sharing your costume description but that is a visual that may haunt me for some time.

Now why am I up a 5am just 3 hrs after I fell asleep? My cat caught a rat and tried to eat it but started puking 1/2 way through and spewing gross chunks of disgusting fur, guts and vomit all across the hallway. Mrs. Duck wakes up to feed the baby, sees the mess and let\'s out a little scream (I think she almost stepped in it) which made me jump out of a dead sleep and spend the next 10 min cleaning regurgitated rat. Now I can\'t sleep.  >:(

She was in the basement with my husband.  He was running the table saw.  He made sure she wasn\'t near it when it was running.  He turned it off and turned around, but the gear belt thing (or whatever.  I don\'t know how tools work) was still moving, like winding down.  He turned around and she grabbed it.

He has horrible memories of what followed.  I have horrible memories too.

I\'m hoping her finger works and looks as normal as possible when all is said and done.

The signs are good.  Thanks for the wishes.  The healing time is the most painful for me.  I just want everything to be better and over, but time man, time.  She is doing pretty well.

Cute!  I can\'t believe how still Q is sitting to get his face paint on.  I\'d have to chase V all around the house, and probably never get the paint on anyway.  She did keep her alien antennas on though.  She liked them.

I\'m back to chasing her all around the house again btw.  She goes on the 16th for her follow-up.
