Title: Might as well try here also...
Post by: Phydeaux_3 on October 25, 2009, 11:11:14 PM
I posted this over the coop, thought I\'d put it you bots as well. Can\'t hurt to try everywhere. Here goes:

I\'m trying like hell to figure out where that Will Patton sample comes from, the one where he says "could you do that to yourself? I mean it really takes something, just to do that to yourself.." I\'m not absolutely certain that it\'s Will Patton but I\'m pretty sure.

I\'m hoping that maybe one of you fine bots will just know where that line comes from. I can\'t even find the song that it\'s from right now, there\'s just so much to sift through. This happens to me all the time with Buckethead\'s stuff, I go looking for something specific and I can\'t even recall which song/album it\'s from. I just have to keep on listening and then "tag" it whenever I accidentally come across it again.

So... who can help me out here?

Thanks in advance!

smooches,

Thanks for that.. I got a fast answer over at the coop also. I\'m trying to find the quote now, either it will be in this clip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnkJ7LUIUos
or the one after that. I\'d better just watch the whole damned thing over again, now that most of the dialogue will have been turned into Bucket-y samples. And also just for the sake of watching it again too after so many years.

Also, I had it pointed out to me that this sample comes from Scraps off of the original Giant Robot NTT, which was also helpful, as I was sampling the first minute of every song on every album...  ;)

Thanks again!

edit: HA!!! @8:29 - "You laugh at an old man!" Sweeeet!!!

edit 2: OMG! Is it like this through the whole movie? I can\'t believe I never knew! "See that was better... they died better that way" & "I was the killer!" this is the BEST!

It\'s worse than potato chips now at this point: "you cannot eat just one" I\'m gonna have to watch the whole thing... possibly twice!

Better late than never I suppose, I\'m finally "getting it". I never realized that most of those samples were taken from TTCM, it had been years since I\'d seen it, way before I was a bonified bot.

SALLY!!!!

hey guys,
speaking of movie quotes in Buckethead songs:

Can anyone help me decipher what\'s being said at the beginning of the 15th song from the "BERMUDA TRIANGLES" album, called:

Whatevas

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TncQejxDeNQ

Quote"not bad ... any holly surfers will blow them away bro"
"whatevas. you go ... "

????

and which movie or tv-series that quote is coming from?

thanks

i have to say that i personally do not promote these links where people have uploaded studio recorded stuff w/o permission.

that aside, i think it\'s dialogue from a surfer movie - North Shore..?  found this online

Vince Moaloka: Not Bad
Local Bruddah: Plenty Haole surfers, but we\'ll blow them away Brah
Vince Maoloka:  Whatevas.  We go.

Thanks for the info, guys!!!!
Must admit I\'ve never heard of that flick. :-X

@ nuff_said:
Good point there, with the record-sharing on YouTube.
Personally i see it as a good way to check out music without having to go to a store. But they should somewhat be prevented from audiotrack-piracy, by including some nasty buzzing-sounds every 20 seconds or so...
