I monitor NTTs on eBay for about two years now and there\'s much too many NTTs from Singapore the last few months. It\'s from different accounts, but the most recent auction here is from one who already sold a copy before:

There\'s already two threads in the WhiteWash section of .TK, but I think losing about 300 bucks on a fake copy from Asia is reason enough to make a thread here as well.

So it looks like they have lots of copies and contact other bidders to disguise some deals. And they have time. There are large gaps between auctions, but not large enough if you try to monitor EVERY auction. The thing that makes me wonder most, is that they\'re only acting on eBay - at least I didn\'t see anything at other portals (e.g. Discogs).
If you have any further evidence, share it!
Still more than 200 bucks - I don\'t get it... :-[
Hmm.... I was watching that for a bit. It was stuck at 17 bids for a while. Maybe some of the bidders saw this thread but one decided to take the risk and buy it at the last minute. Either way this is bad
I purchased my 2 copies from ebay. How do I tell if they are Fake? Is there a way or are they really good copies
What text/number is printed next to the hole of the CD?
"RB03874NTT96-2 RAINBO" is on the first 1
"RB03874NTT96-2 RAINBO" is on the 2nd but written backwards :o Something is wierd ,
Does this mean anything?
They are both factory pressed, not cd-r .
Mine is backwards also 8) USA bought ;D
I would like to know how many people out ther have this in thier collection? They say that there was Only 500 of these made! It would be cool if we could register our copies someway
QuoteMine is backwards also 8) USA bought ;D
Ditto :)

From where are you looking? Orange or silver side?
I know I was looking through to it, and the stamp was on the orange side, it was stamped first. They could\'ve very well been moved to next process and been turned. just an idea and hoping it\'s true. ;D
I\'d say this is another fake:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330344678894
Item description is almost identical to earlier ones from Singapore.
I bought my copy in 04 or 05 from a guy who claimed to be the original owner. I have also bought other rare BH items from this US seller, and I am 99% sure my copy is legit. It also has the numbers written backwards on the inner circle of the silver side.
Does anyone own one of these NTT\'s from Singapore that we can go all CSI on? I hate to accuse they guy of being a fraud without any proof. I admit it is weird that the seller has so many but he does have 100% feedback and no complaints, if it is a fake it must be high quality or someone who bought one in the past would have complained I think.
Maybe Travis can help us on this?
As I recall Travis saying awile back, he guessed there were about a thousand made, again i\'m sure the only one\'s that know are the one\'s involved. also "NTT records" i\'m sure is an Asian company anyway. AND where Big B has played often back in the day i\'m not sure how much but back in 1996 i can\'t imagine the amount of fan\'s he had there. I\'m not trying to back the seller BUT why wouldn\'t there be many copies. And i\'m sure there could be fakes but without one or proof it\'s just all for not.
Also Hexacord do you own one? if not i suggest you buy one and end your suffering ;D

No, NTT is from the U.S.:
It\'s Pete Scaturro\'s tiny label in Santa Monica and the CD actually says "Made in the U.S.A." and also "Printed in Canada"...
And, yes, I\'ve taken my own copy as a reference. ;-)

Show off. ::)
Nothing special, every fan has one - some are even real. :P

What evidence do you have, other than suspicion, that any of the current NTTs may be fake??
Do you have any proof whatsoever?
Have you compared them? Other than the sellers being from Singapore, what would lead you to assume they are fake?
I\'ve been following and buying them since 2000 and have seen no increase in the quantities sold.
It appears that you are only tracing the ones sold from Singapore??
I\'ve owned four copies. All purchased 2007 or earlier.
I think one was purchased from Japan, one from Europe and two from US, one sealed.
I now have only the sealed copy (from Amoeba in California) so I can\'t add any descriptive info.
But the other copies I have owned were identical.
I have seen nothing that would make me call shenanigans.
I buy and sell lots of media. I inspect carefully and I can usually tell fake media when handling.
First and most important sign is poorly printed, sometimes photocopied inserts or booklets. AND usually it is sealed, as they can get more $ for it that way.
I am not saying you are wrong.
Please tell me how they are fake.

Answered at TK, but just have a look at this thread and the one on TK for all the evidence collected so far.
Another NTT popped up:

Hi, new here (though I\'m familiar with store and have bought practically all my Buckethead and/or related artists-projects\' CDs from here since discovering the site/facility), just wanted to point out that this is/was the copy/listing I nearly got suckered into purchasing (on 2nd chance offer, for £100). Thanks to Hexachord\'s submissions, differentiating the official and unofficial/fake versions of this release, on Discogs- I know I\'ve already spoke to you via PM on that portal, Hexachord-, I was able to escape that deal
[To be accurate, the seller backed out of the deal when I cited knowledge of the two different varietals of the release and asked him, politely mind, to prove his was official, claiming that original auction winner had suddenly resurfaced and paid for item; still waiting for response from Ebay as to whether they\'ll look into that transaction and investigate whether a) item was counterfiet b) seller did, in fact, sell item to original winner and c) whether I will get the opportunity to leave negative feedback for my \'transaction\'- had accepted 2nd chance offer, just hadn\'t paid (due to my concerns over item authenticity) before seller requested transaction cancellation. Did, in fact, originally leave negative feedback for seller but they must of complained as it was removed after a few days!].
I\'m over my loss of this extremely rare item (I thought I\'d gotten when bidding-before discovery of Hexachord\'s submissions on release/s on Discogs) now, however :P. Given just how scarce this CD actually is/how few were reportedly printed, I\'m content to just aquire a .FLAC rip of the album (sourced from an official copy of the record)...any kind bucketbots willing to provide me with that? Just putting a search in on google for Giant Robot- NTT brings up plenty of torrent or otherwise download options for this album, however, I would like to be sure I\'m getting a lossless rip from the official album release (and not the fake edition). I\'m prepared to offer (lossless) rips of any of my buckethead and/or music collection in exchange, or, alternatively, pay a nominal fee for it and/or contribute to this site a small figure or whatever...
Cheers,
Steve
