Title: TK support
Post by: Travis on August 13, 2009, 10:02:36 AM
First forgive me for being clueless. I got an email this morning from someone asking me what I thought about the TK support I was getting.
Over the weekend we received a dozen or so orders with "from your friends at the TK" written in the comments section. I can barley keep up with my own forum much less any others so I thought it was curious, spread out over the other orders over the weekend, but I didn\'t put it together. So now that I\'ve been clued in...
I want to thank everyone who participated in the campaign to show your support for us. It comes at a good time. Last week I received notice that the distribution company we had a deal with filed for bankruptcy.
This means thousands of CDs I sent out for distribution will never be returned to me. This is extremely frustrating because not only the outlay of costs to press the CDs will never be recovered but there are thousands of our CDs being sold on ebay, Amazon and other independent online and brick and mortar stores that we will never see a penny for.
I normally wouldn\'t say anything about this but the support we receive from people like you means everything to us. The chances are if a CD is purchased outside our store, we will never get paid for it. Selling music is hard enough as it is.  So, I just want to say again, any show of support is greatly appreciated. Except for a small percentage that goes toward operating expenses here, all the money for items sold goes to the artist.
Of items sold outside our store, probably none does.

Your support and good wishes do not go unnoticed.

Damn Travis.  That sounds incredibly unfair.  How can it be legal for them to sell your Cds and you not get any money for them?  That is just wrong.  I am so irritated by this I think I will order another copy of Population Override.  I have been meaning to get a backup one anyway.

Boourns!! Sucks to hear about the distribution company Travis...that\'s not good!

Glad to hear the TK Binge Day was helpful though.  Know that if you keep making music, we\'ll keep buying...from YOU!

I\'m glad we could help. If there\'s a cd from this website selling for cheaper on amazon, I buy it here and I\'m glad it makes a difference.

Damn, I missed the weekend action and damn, I\'m very sad to hear this. One more reason to not buy at eBay - or one more reason for you to make an official eBay shop.

If I had some money to invest I would try to install an European distribution. But I guess it would need some big bills for ads and such.

So sorry to hear that, Travis.  That sounds illegal!

It was fun making my donation knowing that all kinds of love was pouring in for Buckethead.  I hear the tk is planning a monthly Binge Day.

i\'m with you Travis, i can barely keep up with your own forum either!

sorry to hear that bad news!  i hope some twist of fate occurs and the merchandise makes it back to you after all someday.

i\'ll keep doing my small part just like the others and enjoy my cd\'s/t\'s/hats/stickers/art from here as well as spread the word when i visit myspace and facebook and talk with people in the good old 3D!

hang in there!  you\'ve got lots of peeps sending their positive energy (((vibes))) your way too, so it\'ll blow over soon.
